Manhattan Special Coffee Soda
I just saw coffee soda at Fairway on 86th and 2-3rd ave-dont remember the brand however.
Craving a lobster roll uptown to mark the beginning of being stuck in the city for the summer!
Being "stuck" in the city for the summer is a great thing!!! So much less crowds to deal with and much easier to try all the great restaurants in town. People in other parts of the world would die to be in you situation!!
Seahorse Tavern UES?
Had lunch there few weeks back-delightful New England clam chowder-not your typical-was very well done. Will definitely go back to try other dishes. Nice owners as well.
Holes in my Oahu Itinerary- seeking low key local fare with drinks for dinner. Thanks!!
You can have sunset cocktails at bar located adjacent to Azure. The bar is outdoors w ubrellas covering in case it rains-Both Azure and bar are beachfront.
suggestions for lunch after Metropolitan Museum
May not be the venue you were looking for but there are a couple of eating places within the Met. One is cafeteria style and I go there primarily for the salad bar.
suggestion for Italian, generous portions
Me too!! Carmine's great for birthday party esp w those large portions!! Loud and boistrous in a good party way!!
Need a fabulous looking and tasting birthday cake!
Two Little Red Hens did a wonderful cake once for me. Best to go in and order in person. Not cheap-but you get what you pay for!
Dragonfly (UES)
Just tried last night. Friendly staff but food was rather mediocre for what I expected from a great chef. Too much fried stuff and gloppy type fusion type food for my taste. The beef cheeks I admit was good but the rest not memorable.
Fresh Soursop - What to do with it? [moved from Manhattan]
i like it only if it's ice cold
Best Greek restaurant in ASTORIA and bakery too(Greek) for dessert!
Went to early in morning Sunday that most places were closed-but decided to just scope out area for dinner time next week. Did go to Artopolis-very good choice-a little on expensive side but well worth the selection and choices! I was wowed! Did have lunch at the Diner-forgot the name-voted best by Newsday that's located next to expressway and train staion (the one before Ditmas) which was very good-had lamb kebabs and grilled octopus since I was in a Greek state of mind. Keep sending me suggestions for dinner!
Best Greek restaurant in ASTORIA and bakery too(Greek) for dessert!
Heading there this eve so give me your recs!!!
Lamb at Mr. K Chinese Restaurant. Lavish interior and pricey food that is less than satisfying.
Just had lunch there on Easter Sunday-beautiful place and great service-BUT the food sucked!!!!! I was so dissappointed-never been there before and never will again! We had several courses. Was treated there so I didn't complain to staff of my displeasure-had I been the host for my party-well enuf said!
Eating Raw Oysters, Is it safe?
Salmon MUST be frozen prior to consuming as sushi. I alway ask server if salmon they serve as sushi has been frozen. It's done to kill parasites.

What is the wait at Momofuku Noodle Bar on a Friday night??
How many people? Can be anywhere from no wait to 1/2 hr or so-I have been there numerouse times and wait was always very short. If you are w a group might be longer-if solo-much quicker. As for bars-there are mny in the vicinity but I normally ask for a bottle of sake to consume while I am waiting! Kills two birds w one stone!!

Found! OPIHI SOURCE!
the opihi is shipped from Ireland to San Diego then distributed throughout the US. It arrives w a cold pack-might be frozen before shipping but arrives very cold. Since I buy several lbs at a time I simply divide into zip lock bags and freeze. Taste great every time I take out a batch and consume. For those of you who never had opihi-I usually get shelled ones. The taste is like a mouthful of ocean in a good way. Something you either aquire or had as a kid. I absolutely love opihi even though I could not stomach it as a kid-sort of like oysters for some. Best to eat raw w hot steaminh rice or better yet bland poi which of course it goes well with. It is a little on the slimey side but dont let that deter you. You can always rinse some of the ocean flavor off (which I would never do!) Ask any local-and they will drool at the sound of opihi! It's not traditional but occaisionally i jazz it up w hot peppers and shoyu. btw I am local from Hawaii residing in NYC and absolutely love this new found source!
Found! OPIHI SOURCE!
I know this may not be the best category to post this subject HOWEVER I think most view this category most frequently-I wanted to post my experience w a new source for my beloved opihi. On my last trip back home to the Islands I was quite dismayed to find no opihi in most of the places I normally would have found them so I googled the subject and lo and behold-Opihi from of all places: Ireland! I am currently on my third shipment and must say I am very pleased with the quality and tastes of what I have been receiving. I generally order a few lbs. and freeze them in zip lock bags for consumption when the mood hits. I have found them to be a little less salty to what I am used to so occaisionally I add a dash of shoyo and sliced jalepenos-da bugga broke da mouth!!!! Try it-you'll love!

Dessert venue sought-post Bway play (Neil Simon Theater @ 52/8th)
Would love recs for place to enjoy great desserts after 7pm performance-so around 930-10pmish. Will consider anywhere within walking distance between theater and Grand Central station. Would especially like New York classics such as cheesecake-I want to be WOWED! Thanks in advance!!!
