Tops Kobe Cheese Burger is Tops

After reading these posts, I had my husband stopped by Tops on the way home and picked me up a Tops Kobe Beef Bistro burger. It was absolutely delicious! The beef, the cheese, the onion just melt together! It smelled so good that my husband could not resist and ate half of it before he even got to the front door! I am going back to get my second real soon. It might even be later on tonight.... Yum....

Best Happy Hour in Old Town Pasadena?

Margarita Jones has very nice margaritas for 4 bucks each. Some of the appetizers and chips and salsa are free of charge. you can also order appetizers from the menu for 1/2 off. Union Cattle Co. also has a good happy hours. All appetizers are half off. As far as the drinks goes, I think only draft beers and some martinis are specially priced for their happy hours. Cafe Bizou has a decent happy hours as well. However, I think their happy hours are between 5 and 6:30 only. That is just not long enough for me to get happy. Hope this helps.

Bistro K vs Bistro 45

I dined at Bistro K once over a year ago and it was not a very appetizing experience. This was in the days when I still chowed on foie gras. This delicacy usually is seared to the point of caramelizing on the outside, and the inside is still tender but not raw. At Bistro K, I was served with almost raw foie gras and there was no caramelizing on the outside of it. There is no way they can achieve that caramelizing state since it was never cook on high enough heat. It was vile! I did not come back. Just one note on the dining room, it is extremely small, so it is very noisy. It definitely does not have any ambiance. Like I said, it was over a year ago, so I don't know if they made any improvement.

Good Indian restaurant in Pasadena

We recently had dinner at The New Delhi Palace in Pasadena. It was the best Idian meal that I have ever eaten. We ordered samosas for appertizer, lamb vindaloo, and catfish masala for our main courses. The samosas were just OK, but the 2 main courses were exceptional. We like our dishes super hot, and they gave us just what we wanted. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

Auntie Em's cupcakes are overrated

You are right. I forgot to mention that their prices are ridiculous for the kind of food that they serve.

Best fish and chips?

Where exactly is Brit's Pub? I would love to try their Fish and Chips. My fiance and I have been searching for a good fish and chips restaurant forever. So far, everything we 've tried are very disappointing. Soggy, thick coating, overcooked fish, and frozen, from the bag chips.... Yuck....

Auntie Em's cupcakes are overrated

After reading many sensational reviews of Auntie Em's Kitchen in Eagle Rock, my fiance and I decided to pay this place a visit. We were looking forward to try their food as well as their famous red velvet cupcake that many raved about. Sad to say neither the food nor the cupcake made the mark. The eggplant strata was weak in flavor. The red velvet cupcake was dry with a thick layer of frosting which perhaps was used to counteract the dryness. We left the place with half eaten food on our plates. In our opinion, Auntie Em got what she deserved in the Throwdown with Bobby Flay, the loser title. Her kitchen and her cooking still have lots of room for improvement.

Caterer for a small budget

I am looking for a caterer who can work with my small budget. I am planning to feed 70 to 80 people at my wedding. My first thought was to have a buffet style dinner with appetizers at the beginning. After receiving a few quotes from different caterers, I am now planning to go for appetizers and wines/beers only. If this does not work out, I think we have to elope.
Any recommendation is very much appreciated.
