I Forgot To Leave A Tip-What To Do?

If you still have your c/c receipt it probably has your servers name/number on it. Take it in to the resto with you and if your server isn't there hopefully, it will help identify her. If you didn't want to go back in you might be able to have them add a tip to your c/c

Waiter changed tip

Just so you know smatie the restaurants do have the ability to give credits. Any place that process credit card transactions has the ability to give credits.

Nectar Wine Lounge or Cav Wine Bar

Where should I go?? Both dining menus appeal to me. I tend to lean a little toward Nectar because I like the wine list a bit more but....I've heard great things about Cav so I'm looking for a little help!!

Pink Cocktails

A Poinsetta is easy and fun Champagne and Cranberry juice. Costs can be kept down and who doesn't like a bubbly drink. If you can find a guava juice champagne and guava juice is tasty option.

Passionfish in Pacific Grove is a must my favs are the Scallops and the Duck Confit and the Sablefish. If they have the bread pudding get it no questions asked.
I would skip Giostra and Rosine's sorry!
If you want Italian go to Joe Rambis in Pacific Grove or Gianni's in Monterey(the best pizza)

Wild Plum Cafe is great for lunch or early dinner but they close around 5ish.
Lallapalooza has some really good food but if you go too late it is more a bar than a restaurant.
If your near Cannery Row go one street up to Crepe's a Go-Go for a tasty lunch.
Hula's on Lighthouse is a nice no thrills dinner.
There is a new spot on Wave St. Moulin Bistro it is a french cafe and wine bar. Everything I've heard has been good.

Wine for 120--is this a good plan?

Maybe have your servers say "would you care for the suggested wine pairing with this course"

Need help for Monterey Bay area dining!

In Pacific Grove Passionfish is a great place! The chef is known for slow-cooked meats as well as seafood. The Duck-confit is great! And their wine list is priced at almost retail.
Melange also in Pacific Grove gets some mixed reviews here. I had lunch recently and enjoyed everything
Anything in Pebble Beach is great. Peppoli is their newest restaurant in Spanish Bay. Roy's has one of the best views.
Stokes Adobe in Monterey can be a hit or miss depending on their most recent menu.
Montrio Bistro (Monterey) and their sister restaurant Tarpy's Roadhouse (Mtry/Slns Hwy) always provide great food and service

Wine for 120--is this a good plan?

I think those are pretty good estimates! Usually, a wedding reception is around 4 hours if each person has a bottle of wine and two cocktails that is 1 drink every 40 minutes. Some will drink more some less. 6 drinks might sound like a lot, but its not unreasonable, especially with an open bar, some people take advantage in those situations.

Dishes Bistro, Marina

Thanks for the review! I have thought about going there for a while now! I have friends and family in Salinas/Prunedale and I'm in Monterey I'm glad we have a restaurant where we can meet in the middle.

Help!!! What wine to pair w/blue cheese Burger???

I like to break one patty into 2 then put the Blue Cheese in the middle and top with the other 1/2! Be generous with the cheese and make sure the sides are sealed then grill like normal and top with sauteed onions and mushrooms, sometimes I do use a little melted swiss. It is so good.

Homemade Crouton Recipe Please!

I will be making a Homemade Caesar for a Potluck BBQ and want to make croutons. I have only attempted them once before and they turned out alright. I have an excess of sourdough to use so please give me some of your favorite croutons.

Alcohol-Free Wine

I don't have any experience...when ordering some wine recently from Navarro I noticed they had a section of non-alcoholic and juices made from the grapes. Here's the link so you can check it out.

Need to CARB up for Disney 1/2 marathon Where??

A group of 6 of us need some recs for good places to carb up the night before the marathon. We will be staying near disneyland, but have transportation. We will have 5 adults and one 6 year old child (who is well behaved in restaurants). Inexpensive to Moderate pricing would be appreciated. Everyone has different food budgets. I'm thinking nothing over the $20 entree range! Thanks

Things you like slightly burned or burnt?

I search and search for the almost popped kernels and am so disappointed when they are gone.
Burnt lasagna and pizza cheese YUM!! I steal it off of other people's slices. Slight char on grilled asparagus with drizzle of balsamic.

That Restaurant in Pacific Grove

WOW! I guess every restaurant has an off night! I had a very enjoyable lunch at Melange! I had the same shrimp, and didn't feel the sauce took over that much, maybe the shrimp wasn't the shining star but overall it was enjoyable, as was everything else! I would return! I can say I wasn't WOWED but I was by no means disappointed with food or service.

Can't get the top off my new cocktail shaker!

Bang it on the counter a couple of times it should come right off.
Just a question are you talking about the small top (at the very top) or the larger one that fits onto the bottom piece?
When I get a 3 piece I always make sure the top piece is the male end and the bottom shaker is female I find these easier.

Richmond: Midlothian?

For Ethnic: in Woodlake Commons (Midlothian) there is a spanish restaurant called Emilios they have a lot of tapas choices they also have another location in downtown Richmond. I prefer the Woodlake one better.
The Boathouse is great to go have drinks outside and watch the sunset! Food I would pass on! (although I know ownership changed and I haven't eaten there since)
My opinion is Bonefish has some great seafood. My favorite item there is the Chilean Sea Bass with their Asian Sauce
I haven't been to Dogwood Grill in a while so it might be best to listen to some of the other CH's on that one.

What to do with a large bunch of dill?

I add it to salads! Just cut it up if you have any cilantro or parsley they all add a nice fresh flavor to the salad

Richmond: Midlothian?

IMHO Crab Louies isn't all that hot! If your going chain I would much rather have Bonefish Grill in Midlothian on Hull St. or even Bookbinders (Midlothian or Museum District)
If you are willing to drive to downtown Richmond you will have many more options CanCan quite good and popular with a great atmosphere. (careytown)
Europa (I had one great meal and one decent meal)
Davis and Main (simple and good)
Dogwood

I would skip Tobacco Co. (not worth the money)
Flemings Brio are good options both in Stony Point
One of the best meals I had while living in the are was at Buckheads (its a bit pricey)

Kitchen aide stand mixers on sale

Just FYI I purchased one at my local Costco today 5qt 475watt for $240! I also got a mail in coupon for a free second bowl. I know it is more than the Amazon price but I price shopped for a while and $240 for 475 watt was a great deal.
