Venice Beach Area Dinner and Lunch Recs

Staying at the Marriott in Marina Del Rey and figured I'd spend an afternoon checking out the Venice boardwalk area, any recommendations on places to eat for dinner or lunch? Something with some local flavor would be good. Thanks

Dinner Recs near Renaissance Hotel

Hi,
I'm staying at the Renaissance Hotel and am looking for recommendations for dinner. Something close by would be ideal and something with some local flavor. I'll be dining solo so I'd prefer to eat at the bar of a restaurant. Thanks!

Boston: gifts of food for the non-cook?

Jeni's splendid ice cream would be a great gift. I've done it before, just order online and they send it packed with dry ice to keep it cold. The people I sent it to went nuts about how good it was. www.jenis.com

Dinner near Marriott City Center Minneapolis

Thanks for all the suggestions, I really had wanted to try Brasserie Zentral but with an unexpected late arrival I ended up just grabbing dinner at the hotel. Next time though I'll have to venture out. Thanks again.

Dinner near Marriott City Center Minneapolis

Looking for some good dinner recommendations within walking distance of the Marriott City Center hotel. I'll be dining solo so I'd prefer to eat at the bar of a restaurant. All types of food welcome but something unique to the area would be nice. price not a concern. Good cocktails would be a plus. Thanks

Cleveland Downtown Dinner

Thanks for the recommendation, had an amazing dinner last night at Lola. Incredible service and one of the best pieces of pork i've ever had

Cleveland Downtown Dinner

Lola sounds interesting, anything you recommend there? Also, will I have an issue getting a seat at the bar around 8:30/9ish on a Wednesday?

Cleveland Downtown Dinner

I'll be staying at the Marriott downtown at Key Center next week during the week and am looking for a good place to dine solo for dinner. Some place upscale with good food and cocktails near the hotel where I'd be comfortable eating at the bar. Any and all types of cuisine are welcome. Thanks.

Where to find Conch?

what's the difference between conch and whelk flavor or texture wise. Just curious, I've only had conch twice before.

Braised Beef Tacos

Looking for recipes or recommendations on braising beef for tacos. Cut of beef? Braising liquid/spices? I've never made this so consider me a newbie. Also, not looking for anything that will be wildly hot, more on the mild and flavorful side.

Thanks

Second Date - tasty but not too pricey

I'd recommend Silvertone in downtown crossing then walk to the north end or seaport for drinks. Silvertone is reasonably priced and the food is great and the place has a cool vibe.

Where was the first date for reference?

Any recommendations for foil pack dinners for the grill?

My mom always made these in the summer. In the foil packet she'd place a chicken breast, carrots and potatoes (both cut into long wedges) and canned cream of mushroom soup then would put them on the grill. They were delicious.

Swordfish recipes

I'm fortunate to live in an area with a good fishing fleet that goes after a lot of swordfish, so needless to say it's fairly cheap and we eat it a lot. Does anyone have any good recipes for either swordfish steaks or kabobs. We mostly just cover it in mayo and grill it. Any and all suggestions on how to change things up are welcome. Thanks.

June 2014 Farmers' Markets, Farm Stands, CSA updates

Can anyone recommend a good farmer's market in the greater boston area on a Saturday or sunday. One with a lot of vendors. The one in my town (Wilmington) is nice but a bit small. Willing to make the trip to another town if it has more vendors and variety.

Not sure if he'll be there every week. Last year he was there every so often, maybe once a month. My guess is this would be the same scenario.

June 2014 Farmers' Markets, Farm Stands, CSA updates

I was at the Wilmington Farmer's Market this past weekend and he was there sharpening knives. I got mine sharpened, also got him to do mine last year. He knows his stuff and does a great job! I completely trust him with my knives.

Tew Mac Tavern, Tewksbury

I think Rocco's is a great suggestion, the food is excellent. I've been to the tew mac tavern a few times for lunch and then for a few private functions. For the private functions the food is typical banquet food. The food in the restaurant is good, although my sample is limited to sandwiches, they do have an excellent lobster roll and the room is very nice.

Thanks for the help everyone. I pulled them out of the pots and replanted, hopefully they spring back. As a safety measure I'm going to plant some more just to be safe.

Crappy Wings Over Arlington...

I've always have liked the chicken bone. They do a good ratio of sauce to wing while keeping the chicken wing crispy. The boneless wings aka chicken tenders are really good. The thermonuclear sauce is no joke. I've been going there since it was a divey biker bar and I think they are some of the best wings around.
