I'm embarrassed as a chowhound that I have never eaten ...

I am embarrassed to say that I have not eaten at O Ya yet. Still saving for that splurge.

Summer 2009 openings and closings

There is already an article posted on the Boston Herald's website about Great Bay closing May 30.

Roslindale/W Roxbury

That is too bad- I really liked Brickhouse. Everytime I went, it seemed to have a very good crowd.

Summer 2009 openings and closings

Isn't Au Jour d'hui owned by Four Seasons? I find it surprising that such a large and prestigious hotel brand could not figure out a way to keep it alive.

Italian restaurants near TD Banknorth Garden?

nebo is located right between the North End and the Garden. They serve food late night- I think until 1am.

chocolate chip cookies

I agree! Tori's chocolate chip cookies are the perfect mix of sweet and salty.

Olives: The Best Value of RW

Wow! That is quite a selection for a RW menu. Probably too late to get reservations at this point? I may have to try my luck at the bar!

late night food after pickup from logan

Bricco and nebo in the North End also serve until midnight, I believe.

Special Sat. Lunch in the Metro west

Actually, now that the Natick Collection has a Sel De La Terre and the Met Bar and Grill, it may be worth trying for a Saturday lunch.

Donna's Cakes?

I get all my daughter's birthday cakes there. I love it- the cakes are both beautiful and delicious.

New Greek Restaurant in Back Bay?

Thankfully, our table looked clean to me. We ended up all just getting a bunch of appetizers which were fun to share for four girls and I also noticed that their wine list was pretty extensive and reasonable. All in all, I thought it was a fun place to go afterwork for a couple apps and a glass of wine. There are not a ton of places like that in that specific area, so it was a nice addition to our block. They had this fried homemade pita thing served with three different dipping sauces which was very tasty. Also, we shared the watermelon and feta again because I enjoyed it so much the first time. My DCs ordered the arancini and they liked the variety served.

New Greek Restaurant in Back Bay?

I am meeting friends there again tonight, so I will report back. But, my first visit was very good. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and I thought that the menu was reasonably priced. We will see if tonight fares the same.

Mantra, Downtown, Boston

Yum! Sounds delicious- great review. I have not been there in a few years but I heard that they are building a nan bar in the back. Did anyone mention that when you were there? After reading your post, I am going to have to check it out.

West Street Grille Closed?

Has anyone else noticed that West Street is closed? Does anyone know what happened?

Moving to Boston, Recommendations!

I don't think anyone Teatro on Tremont Street. I always have good meals there. Also, Silvertone is a good option in Downtown Crossing for comfort food closeby.

Vlora To Open Next Week?

I agree- the bread and dip were delicious and I most likely will go back for the small plates, as well.

Great Takeout..Newton, CHill, WROX

Village Sushi in Roslindale delivers and it is reasonably priced. Also, Comelias on Centre St in WROX is okay, not as good as the original. I like to order from Sophia's Grotto, but it is takeout- no delivery. Misono on the VFW is also good Japanese take out.

Vlora To Open Next Week?

They are open! I actually tried it tonight and they had a wonderful watermelon and feta appetizer and arancini that were delicious!

Kowloon?! Really?!

I have eaten there a lot with my grandmother who lives in the area. It is a cross between Anthony's Pier 4 and the Venezia in Quincy, but with killer baked stuffed lobsters. Actually, Emeril Lagasse used to work there when he was young. Terrible atmosphere but ample portions of no nonesense food.

Kaya Copley Sq. closed

Oops. I should have done my research first. Kaya was at 581 Boylston and Vlora is going to be at 545 Boylston. Sorry for the confusion!

Kaya Copley Sq. closed

I believe that is where Vlora will be going, which is an Albanian/Mediterranean restaurant. I heard rumors that it is opening in early August.

Where to eat at North End?

It is pretty good. Not as upscale as Prezza, but also not as pricey.

Sugar Bakery West Rox.

I actually got a cake from there recently and they give you two frosting options- one buttercreme and one that is a little more sugary. I thougt it was a smart move by them to offer two options. The buttercreme was actually a good choice.

Delicious and unique/beautiful looking cakes near Boston?

I second Party Favors. It has been our family favorite for years now. Their cakes are always beautiful and delicious.

Where to eat at North End?

Correction- I just looked into it and Fiore is the restaurant with the roofdeck dining. I apologize!

Where to eat at North End?

There are not a lot of outdoor dining options in the North End, but there are some Al Fresco/open air restaurants worth considering. I know that one place has rooftop dining- is it Lucca? Il Panino on Parmenter Street just opened a patio recently, as well. Both have good, reasonably priced food.

Seafood on the waterfront?

Well, for a reasonable seafood dinner on a budget that is located on the water, I would suggest Legal Sea Foods near the Aquarium. It is on the harbor and it won't break the bank.

Theater district

Teatro on Tremont Street is one of the best resaurants in the Theater District. Another great option is Pigalle on Charles Street which is a stone's throw away from the theater.

Prezza due...

Correction on the name of the Prezza special menu- it is actually an Italian phrase, but it is still available.

Moving to Boston

Thanks, Macca!
