A drink in a pineapple

I'm pretty sure the East Coast Grill has one. Plenty of pictures of 'em on their website, tho' I don't see it on the drink menu...

Does the East Coast Grill Serve Great BBQ?

I agree. Not "great classic bbq", but what they serve is great. CS's dry rubbed ribs are great, as are the Xiao Jianming's and the Hell bones.

well smoked , nicely finished.

IMO

Macaroni and cheese

The Loft in Andover is reputed to have a good lobster Mac and Cheese

Best thing to eat at Fenway

If you're getting peanuts, ALWAYS get it from the guys outside who roast it and pack in paper bags, waayy better than the over salted plastic bagged nuts in the park!

First Banh Mi Sandwich

I think that's the one. I've gotta go back and try some more.

Breakfast in Lexington?

Here's what Winchester has to offer. I like the Swanton St. Diner.

Bill and Bob's Woburn

I like 'em late night. One of the few places with hot pastrami, and they'll put hot sauce on pastrami, burgers or roast beef. I don't think I've tried the rb, nice greasy burgers or pastrami on a grilled bun.

Breakfast

Now THERE's an appetizing breakfast image.

Tween boys for a late dinner

At 9, you might be able to get into Eastern Standard, have a burger and fries, watch the Yankee game on their TV, and hear the roar from Fenway.

Fun/Interesting restaurant for young teen's birthday (Boston North)

It's right next to the Summer Shack. Great or not, depending on your view. I like it. For the OP, I second the interactive fun and "foodie"ness of Shabu Shabu at Pho 88.
Stepdancer, what did you end up doing?

First Banh Mi Sandwich

I just had my first. In a little bahn mi/newsshop on Merrimac st. in Lowell called Nou-y. Is this the one I've seen called "Yummy's"? they were out of pork, so I had the "pate" (head cheese) one. Asked for it spicy, they put Saracha and jalapenos on it (no bird peppers). Very good, crumby crumbly baquette, cucumber, daikon, carrot, cilantro, light on the "butter" or mayo or whatever, I'll have to ask for more next time. Anyone been to this place? Is it a good representative?

Hot dogs

How 'bout the new Bad Dawgs on Merrimac St. in downtown Lowell. All beef dawgs, many toppings. Had one today while looking for a bahn mi, the dawg was not bad.
(Found bahn mi about 1/2 mile down Merrimac in a little shop called nou-y. my first, had the "pate" bahn mi. liked it.

unusual dining

I you can wait till a Sunday, the "chef's whim" at Craige St. Bistrot is pretty fun, and interactive in the sense that the waiters come out and describe each dish as it comes out. Went for the first time in a while this past weekend, the six course whim: 1. white tuna tartar topped with paddlefish roe 2. citrus cured salmon served with a variety of fruit, including asian pear and oroblanco, among others. 3.blood sausage, served on a lentil puree 4. roasted lamb belly, on spinach and brown rice 5. brisket, done fancy, I was starting to fade and don't remember it well. 6. pear sorbet, with caramel sauce, followed by different deserts for different diners, a choclate mille feuille ( or however it's spelled) was memorable.
Adventurous and fun to put yourself in chef Maws' hands. Nice wine list too, I'm told.

Vegetarian-Friendly Weekend for a Student Couple on a Budget

How about the Inman Sq. area? Punjabi Dhaba for cheap vegetarian fun meal. East Coast Grill for a bar, or split the grilled veggie plate, plenty for two at $17.50.
Not a very vegetarian environment, though. Could try some stuff at the bar at Oleana, plenty of veggie choices, Mediterranean upscale. Ice Cream at Christina's.

Back in Billerica -- Sichuan Gourmet, hoo boy!

MCSJ, Have you given Asiana Bistro a try? It's where Boston Market used to be, run by an original manager from Joyce Chen's. Pan Asian menu, but not bad execution, I think. Try the Hong Kong dishes, I think they're his specialty.

Back in Billerica -- Sichuan Gourmet, hoo boy!

Funny, I agree completely about the H & S soup. The Kung Bao chicken is also a little too sweet. The Ma Po Tofu is the best I've had (ok not saying that much, but I've had it at Sichuan Garden and Chili Garden), and the Fish Filets w. Spicy Chili Sauce (I assume what you were talking about, aranthe) are great. The Old Sichuan Chicken is a great Dry spiced dish.

Going away business lunch near Lexington/Concord

Lexington has a new Japanese/sushi resto called Daikanyama that hasn't been reviewed here. Care to be the guinea pig/sacrificial lamb? You could also get reasonable upscale chow at Dalya's in Bedford, right between Lexington and Concord. IMO a better option than Max Stein's.

Teppanyaki, Lexington

Has anyone been to the new sushi/Japanese place two or three storefronts up Waltham St? It's called Daikanyama and I've seen one good Yelp review and nothing else. Peregrine, you seem to be based in the area, try it out for us!!

Looking for best fish taco's in Boston??

Summer Winter in Burlington has fish tacos on the menu. Haven't tried them yet, not being able to reconcile "fish" with "taco".

Jazz bar? Or live music bar?

Ryles Jazz Club in Inman Square

Good Eats Near Marriott Long Wharf

I know Todd English doesn't get a lot of kudos here, but I've had good luck at Kingfish Hall. For the OP its at the end of Fanueil Hall, close to the LW Marriott. Good cocktails; I like the Bloody Mary, heavy on the horse radish and with a nice large steamed shrimp hanging off of it. Oysters and apps are fine, nice tuna tartar. Some very good seafood dishes. Stay away from the steak. Prices are mid to upper, mid twenties for an entree.

change of user name

If I'd like to do the same, can you send info, or tell me where to find it on the board, it seems like more than two of us have had this issue.

last minute idea for tonight . (Methuen)

Mexico Lindo, hidden behind the Red Barn Inn, with a sister restaurant in Melrose, serves a nice meal, clean, fresh ingredients. Can't speak for "authenticity", the Chowhound mantra.

Great, Different Recommendation for this Weekend

Craige St. Bistrot_ high concept, well executed, slightly off the beaten path. Pricey but worth it
Trattoria Tuscana- really good Tuscan italian, small cute room near Fenway, good value. Perhap a better choice for the non Bourdain set.
East Coast Grill- Fun room, terrific grilled seafood, oysters, some meat choices. Middle price.
Also third Oleana and Sal's and Joanie's recs.

Asiana in Bedford?

I, too, was pleased with Asiana Grill. I agree the scallion pancake was nice and crisp, though perhaps light on scallion. The General Gau's was also nicely crisp, with the chicken laid on, rather than soaked in the tangy sauce. I also had the T-bone in black pepper sauce, as I wanted to try something more Hong Kongy, given Mr. Ho's background. It was very tender meat (thin, with eye bones in it, reminiscent of something I can't recall) and the pepper sauce very tasty, tho' I can't vouch for authenticity. Didn't try Thai or Japanese, but the sushi looked fine, and Mrs. Ho said that the sushi chef had previously worked in Boston (I think she said in Chinatown?). If they can keep up the quality and freshness of their incredients and kitchen, I'll be going back. If the sushi's good, I hope Ginger doesn't suffer when they have to close for awhile as their block is renovated.
