Market Basket, Thoughts

First time back to the Reading store since the revival. Walked in before opening @ 6:45 am and was welcomed w big smiles from the mgt staff. Of course I had the place basically to myself at that hour. The store was IMMACULATE. Everyone was cheery AND the fish counter was stocked by the time I reached it. When does that happen in ANY store at 7am? Plus haddock is still on sale for $4.99/lb. Cooked it up last night and it was fabulous (as usual). When I was checking out I noticed that Arthur T was on the front page of my Globe. I pointed it out to the cashier and she rallied the other cashiers who began high fiving each other. Still celebrating. Fantastic!!

Help me plan my Lobster Roll Quest of NE Mass, Coastal NH, and SE Maine

Where is the other Petey's? I know the one on Rte 1 in Rye w a rooftop deck.

The best (non-tourist) seafood restaurants in Boston proper, please.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Moultons in the burbs. I highly second Belle Isle seafood. NOT fancy. Paper plates, outside deck overlooking the water and large portions of incredibly fresh fish. Would definitely put that on your radar.

Apps for tracking food

I'm growing increasingly frustrated w MFP the longer I use it. The nutrition data on foods is frequently wrong, particularly the ones that members contribute. AND you can't edit your food and meal lists so the list gets long and unusable after a time. on the search for another meal tracker. Will look at MyPlate

Henrietta's Table RW

Had a a late lunch on Thursday. Best RW experience...ever. No RW menu. Could order anything off the regular menu for 3 course lunch $20. Dinner sized portions. Specials offered @ $30. Had the best piece of schrod. Buttered crumb topping, silky interior. Hot. Spicy roasted cauliflower sub'd for potatoes. Pal had the striped bass which she loved. Aps were cod cakes and potabello mushrooms w walnut dressing. Delicious! Service friendly and unobtrusive. Our drinks were not an extra charge. Relaxing 2 hr lunch. $42 for 2 people. Can't wait to go back for dinner. Why have I never gone to this place before ????

Anyone tried CI's new take on Chicken Marbella?

Yes. Didn't like it. In no way does it resemble the original recipe..which is a classic.

Cranberry oat muffins. Came across this recipe last month and it is by far the best thing I've baked in 2013. Have made them at least 4x. Just pulled another batch out of the oven. OMG, so good. Taking this batch to my best friend who had a bilateral mastectomy for breast cancer yesterday. She LOVES them,

BERMUDA in December

We had a great time last week. The weather was BEAUTIFUL!!.Grabbed lunch at the pastry bistro in Dockyard the day we arrived and it was delicious. Nice folks too. Other than that we cooked and ate on board our house boat until anniversary night at Ascots. We loved it. The whole package. We hardly ever order dessert so they brought us a one compliments of the house .
I love Bermuda. :)
