Tagging a restaurant, etc
Chow Team - The auto-suggest UI is not entirely clear to me. I was trying to suggest a location in a post and the restaurant was not listed. It was not clear how I could add a new location.
Also - "Manage your links" - that's not titled well. "tag a location" or "restaurant" is more clear...
Atlanta Cofee Roasters
I really like Dancing Goats Coffee Bar in Decatur and San Francisco Coffee (a few places in Atlanta)

Can I get a decent Lobster Roll in Charlotte?
I don't know... trying to get a good lobster roll down in Carolina is like trying to find good BBQ in Boston. You really don't want to mess with the Yin Yang of the culinary world.
Boston chowhounder looking for Atlanta recs
There is a great seafood place called "Legal Seafood" that you should totally check out :)
OK, kidding.
If you're looking for southern, JCT Kitchen or South City Kitchen are your two best places.
Disclaimer: I LOVE JCT. it's incredible...

Charlotte: Customshop v. Zebra v. Good Food on Montford?
I would head to Customshop. Goodfood is not that good, in my opinion.
I have not been to Zebra yet, but I hear really good things about it from a co-worker.
recommendations for sushi and cocktails in charlotte
The crudo is so not worth it at Customshop. I love customshop, but just felt freakin' cheated after I ate it. It was $18 for 3 slices of fish... Come on. I'm a foodie, and appreciated the taste and freshness of the fish, but for that much money to get 3 small pieces? Fool me once...
Clover Coffee Brewing in the South
It was Dancing Goats, and the coffee was incredible.
Clover Coffee Brewing in the South
This past weekend, I was in a coffee shop in decatur, GA that had a Clover Brewing Machine. If you don't know what a Clover is, read this chow article. http://www.chow.com/stories/10853
Well, I dare say the coffee was excellent. I'm pretty sure this was the best cup of coffee I have ever had.
The barista who made it told me that he thought there were 4 places in the Southeast that have the Clover. Anybody know where else they might be?
Thanks
Arived in Charlotte, NC and Looking for Good Chow Near the Airport
If you're truly *at the airport*, I think you're in trouble, sorry....
My suggestion: head uptown and hit a restaurant around there.
Sorry I couldn't give you any better info, but I think you're gonna be hard up to find things out there.
2 nights in Atlanta, need recommendations.
You're not the first person to slam TAP. I've heard many bad stories about the service and the food. What REALLY perplexes me is why the restaurant group that owns TAP (Cocentric) does not whip that place into shape. I love the other Cocentric restaurants, like One Midtown Kitchen and Two Urban licks Does Cocentric not pay attention to the reviews they get on here or Yelp? They need to...
FLIP - I think the place is really, really good. I got the burger that was on special and was really, really disappointed with it. However, my girlfriend got the bacon cheese burger, and NOM NOM NOM - it was the best tasting burger I've ever had.
West Egg - Been there twice. Food is OK to Good, but the service is rotten. Both times I have been it took a long time to get our food, then when we got it, it was cold. Lame.
Asheville - help us cut one from our list
I have only eaten at one of the places... but Table was great!
Cheeseburger in Charlotte
OK. I don't get the Penguin. I've been. It's good, but it's not great. It's a cheap burger (which is fine! ) but it's basically a greasy spoon. Sure, it's great for a quick lunch.
For me, if I want a good burger, I head to Big Daddy's.
Now, here is where I get beat up for this post....
Best BBQ in Richmond, VA
Buz and Ned's. Hands down the best BBQ I have ever had. Incredible.
Draft Beer in Charlotte
Anyone have any suggestions for a great selection of draft beer in Charlotte?
I can only think of 4 places.
Hickory Tavern
The Fox and Hound
Flying Saucer
Revolution Pizza
Hickory and Fox and Hound have a wide selection, but it's mainly domestic or common imported beers. Revolution Pizza is pretty good. I have not tried the Flying Saucer yet because it's a tad far from me.
Can anyone help me find some really unique beers on draft in a non-smoky bar type environment? I'd love to find some frou-frou place that serves beer in glasses proper to the type of beer.
Thanks!

Charlotte BBQ
By far one the most controversial posts I have ever made.... but here it goes.
I totally jones for the BBQ place in the Charlotte Airport.
There, I said it. And I am OK with it. I try and plan my flights in and out so I can either get lunch or dinner....
Where Buy Whole Bean Coffee In Charlotte?
Godfather,
I can't find Cluck N Cup anywhere online. I know exactly where you're talking about, but I had no idea there was even a coffee shop there. Can you give me some more detail about the place? I'll go check it out tomorrow (I live 4 blocks away...)
Thanks
Where Buy Whole Bean Coffee In Charlotte?
I'm interested in learning this too. Dilworth is the only place I have found that is reasonable fresh, but I am not totally impressed with their coffee either.
Best Wings in Charlotte
My two favorite places:
Ed's Tavern - While the owners are from NJ and not NY, the wings are the best "traditional" wings I have found. When I am craving wings, I go there.
Mac's Speed Shop - It's a BBQ joint, but their wings are pretty good. They smoke them first, then grill them. I always ask for them extra grilled to get a nice crust on them.

Cheese & Beer (and more) in Charlotte, NC
Ran into a place that would probably interest you, since you're down here from NY. Pasta and Provisions on Providence Road. Makes fresh pasta that you can take home. Lots of Italian grocery. Some nice Italian wines (barbera, barbaresco). A good selection of cheeses, BUT, most we pre-packaged.
The other two places I would suggest are Earth Fare and Fresh Market.
For beer, Brawley's. Mike Brawley is just a great dude. Great supply.

Looking for good eats in Downtown Charlotte, NC
I would tack Zink on to there as well.
Oh, Chima. CHIMA! CHIMA! If you have the stomach (both to handle the amount of food you'll take down, as well as the price tag [$42.95 if I am not mistaken]), Chima is an incredible Brazilian steak house. Awesome. Try a mojito.

Blasphemy from wb247.
PBR is an award winning beer. Where do you think they got that blue ribbon from?
Seafood in Atlanta
No. Way. Ever.
I had the worst seafood experience from the Dekalb Farmers Market. Got mussels. Had to throw the whole thing out.
The entire seafood section smells like bad fish. Avoid it.
Atlanta Fish Market has the freshest seafood around. If you go before the restaurant opens, you can purchase from their.
Star Provisions is another great option.

Loose tea in Charlotte?
Teavana in the South Park Mall. It's near Macy's. I used to purchase all my loose leaf tea there, but have now transitioned to buying from the internet since they stopped carrying my favorite.
However, teavana does have a nice selection.
Moving to Charlotte. Afraid of the food
Fair enough.
All in all, I've lived in Charlotte for about a year and a half and so far, I've been extremely disappointed in breakfast options here. Zada Jane's is pretty consistent to me, personally. I spend a great deal of time in Atlanta and love the many, many breakfast options. Charlotte just lacks in this category.
Moving to Charlotte. Afraid of the food
I disagree with billyjack - I love Zada Jane. Their breakfast sandwiches are the best in Charlotte in my opinion.
Moving to Charlotte. Afraid of the food
This might be blasphemy to other Charlotte residents, but I'm not sure I would agree on the Penguin for the best burgers. @carolinadawg - it hurts me to disagree with another Bulldog, but I gotta. Penguin is just like going to a diner. I, personally, prefer Big Daddy or Custom counter for burgers.
Sushi - Nikko is my favorite. I think it's the best in Charlotte.
@jdubyapepper - I've been in Charlotte for just over a year. It's got some great restaurants. You'll be fine. And for the record, I have not eaten at Applebee's yet. OK - Cheesecake factory once, but just once.....
Atlanta--Farmer's Markets?
If you got to Your Dekalb Farmers Market, only get vegetable-type products. If it was ever alive, you're best not buying it from there....
