I am trying to make the shift to eating more local, in season, and organic foods. I am also a mother of 2 young children. I'd like to find family friendly places to eat that are south of Indian School and east of McQueen/Mesa Dr. We live in Laveen and rarely make it pass those boundaries. Suggestions?

I like Mucho Gusto a lot! (I recognize the redundancy in my previous statement). It is on University a few blocks west of Mill. The food there is interesting and delisious. Their tamales with mole are quite tasty. I've asked them to sell them by the dozen during Christmas. I like Much Gusto on University for some delicious Mexican food as well as decently priced drinks. It's really close to ASU.

I know Vegas buffets have a bad rep with some posters, but the one at Mandalay Bay is quite good!

I like the chicke tikka masal pasty mmmmmmm.

I do love Pita Jungle, but I'm afraid I'll just order the falafel which are frien d balls of goodness rather than ordering something more low-cal.

I'm trying to stick to my New Year's resolution and eat healthy! i kind of tire of the options at chain restaraunts and wanted somewhere new to go tonight. Here are my req's:

It must be west of the 101 and south of the 202
I must be able to take my two small children with me

I would go a little further south to the Chinese Cultural center for dim sum at Golden Buddha. I am also a big fan of the seafood po boys at Baby Kay's. I think that is 24th and Highland.

Okay, so I'm sure this has been posted before, but, where do you like to dine in Vegas on a budget? I'm going tomorrow, and I am not a wealthy woman. Here are things I need to have:
1) On the strip
2) Walking distance from Luxor to be included
3) Buffets, and I mean good buffets, can be included
4) Should not exceed $40 per person
5) No chains, please
I know I like the savory crepes at the Paris, but other than that, most of my Vegas trips have been somewhat blase in the food dept.

I also like the croissants at Lee's sandwiches on Dobson and Warner.

I know sometimes you can get them at C-Fu gourmet and from time to time at the Gourmet House of Hong Kong. I don't know how likely it is to get blue crab from the east coast that hasn't been frozen since crab is such a volatile substance. It has to be handled properly from start to finish. I'm from the Carolinas and love nothing more than a soft shell sandwich in the summertime. Alas, I am pregnant and unable to travel this summer =(.

My husband and I recently visited Paris and I just fell in love with the crepes sold by street vendors. I especially liked the savory crepes such has ham and cheese. Anyone know where to get crepes of a similar caliber in the valley? Thanks!
