Cookies from the 80s???

I think there used to be some fudge sandwich cookies -- lighter in color and a bit less crisp than oreos. There was a vanilla version as well. Maybe Keebler or Sunshine (is that the other brand?)
They had a simpler design than Oreos or Hydrox.

New Oreos resealable packaging.

I just bought some and they have changed the package so that you have to break some bits of plastic to get them open the first time.

The virtues of Doublestuff Oreos

A couple of months ago, I saw a container of just the cookie part of Oreos, although they were a bit larger, maybe 2.5" diameter. I bought them and used my own icing to fill them. My sister is also not a fan of the filling, so when I went back, I got her a container of the cookies. (I think she made ice cream sandwiches of some of them.) The next time I went, they were nowhere to be found. This was at Ocean State Job Lot in Athol MA. I still look for them but it may have been just a one-time thing.
I also love the Nabisco Famous Wafers. Like Mallomars, they may be seasonal.

Your best cheesecakes, please. (No savory ones!)

This one came about because I was looking for an easy way to make the crust. In the past I have made the Lindy's cheesecake with the cookie crust but I am too lazy for that these days. I had a box of Krusteaz Lemon Bars in my cabinet and it comes with a pouch of already made crust -- what could be easier than that? The lime filling is mostly sugar, so I mixed that with cream cheese (maybe 3 boxes?) and eggs (3?) and maybe some cream or sour cream and it made a great mildly lime-y cheesecake. You could also use the lemon bar mix, if you prefer.

Fatburger open in Massapequa Park

Happened to try Cheeburger Cheeburger the other day since I had to go to Fairway (same shopping center.) Got a takeout cheeseburger and fries. Burger ($5.49) was okay, although no better than I can make myself, but the fries ($2.29?) were awful. A generous amount but they seemed to have been refried or something. They were very well done, which is okay, but not when they are also dried out and get cold in a few minutes. I wouldn't go back. Try Krisch's in Massapequa Park or All-American. Hell, my meal from Checkers for half that price was twice as good.
