HELP - Dinner for 2 under $50
PLEASE HELP - I wanna take my girl out to dinner tonight, pref spend under $50. Will travel, but starting in Los Feliz/Silverlake.
Favourite Cheeseburger in LA
OK I am sure this has been discussed before, but to keep the information fresh I am starting again - I am interested in finding the best cheeseburger in LA.
To throw the first hat in the ring, I am going to say that I did really enjoy my CB at Duke's in Malibu yesterday, simple and light but super tasty and fresh. I'd say it pipped at the post the burger at 25 Degrees (Hollywood/Orange) although the latter did come with much more flare and pomposity (fiscally reflected).
Excluding service, disregarding ambience, ignoring price, what is flat out the best Cheeseburger in LA? (Don't be afraid to mention Paris' favourite In & Out).
Any thoughts?
Lunch at Hollywood & Highland
I agree with rednyellow about The Dip. Nothing good to speak of, but the Borat trivia is mildly interesting...
Lunch at Hollywood & Highland
OK to add further to the criteria... Anything healthy???
Best GELATO? Recommendations please?!?
Gelato Cafe I think it is called near the Sunset Junction where Sunset and Hollywood meet in Silverlake. And they can make you a decent European macciato to wash it down! And they have these strange little merangue biscuits to boot. I don't know what else is out there, but give it a go!
Los Feliz and environs
Hey thanks for all the advice folks, have taken note, and will do my best to try everything mentioned favouribly here. I also heard today that the Key Lime Pie at The Vermont is the best bar none. Any second opinions???
Lunch at Hollywood & Highland
Thanks for the advice ... so funny, I wrote the post then went to lunch (at Lucky Strike) then came back to see two recommendations. My steak sandwich was great, though we did wait a while for the food. Any ideas about lunch tomorrow?
Lunch at Hollywood & Highland
Hey, just in case I've missed something, any suggestions for Lunch venues near H&H?? Been all over, need to be close enough to walk eat and be back within an hour.
Yoghourt
Any ideas where I can get super creamy, thick, non-sweetened European-style yoghourt?
Los Feliz and environs
So I am new to the country, new to the state, new to the city. Interested in any recommendations for culinary highlights in the Los Feliz area. My interests in food range in dodgy (but quality) street Mexican, to sit down, fancy (I could have bought a new pair of designer jeans instead) gastronomy. Places of interest thus far Palermo's on Vermont and Mexico City on Hillhurst. Oh also any deli's or gourmet food wholesalers nearby? And best bakery - selection at the Boulangerie on Vermont is not vast.
