Old Salty dog is terrible and Half Shell is not much better. We have so many fine restaurants here in Sarasota and I am sorry you choose a few that did not work..
Costco in Sarasota
Drove by the new Costco this week and some of the basic steel is up. Its a long way before the roof will be installed. Seems they are going slow, but yet again, its a huge building. I feel its going to be the first quarter of next year...for its grand opening.
Best Cheeseburger in Portland, Maine
next time if this appears the same way, tip the Dogfish burger upside down, and your problems are solved. Or, complain about the roll, because I have only had wonderful experiences at this restaurant.
Bistro at the Concession Bradenton / Sarasota
Well-well-well. We also ate there a month ago, and the food as well as the service was excellent, but, we like BB ambiance much better. Although it was full on a Saturday evening it felt stuffy.....I must agree that its definitely in the woods, and quite a jaunt. WE much prefer Beach Bistro...

SOLE FRANCAISE--thats my choice too....
Wonderful & excellent every time. Suggestion--the bread comes at room temperature, so ask the waiter to heat it up for a minute.... They will do this if they are not too busy. It makes all the difference in the world. I love that place.

Mainemal: your are right..... J's is overrated and Bar Lola is excellent. But my first choice is always Street & Company.... A great restaurant run by professionals, and the food is always top notch. I guess people don't like the fact that they sometimes have to wait, the closeness of tables, or the prices, but its still, in my opinion, the best !!!

Yes, excellent flatbread, and meatloaf. I used to buy the flatbread and bring some to Bangor to my friends. They went crazy. I believe someone in the Portland will begin making the flatbread because it was so-so good.
Well, times change, restaurant owners disappear, and landlords get stuck with a worthless lease. I still hope some employees can get together and make it happen....

They know how to make yogurt but not a clue how to run a restaurant. The first mistake was changing the name. It was all downhill from there....
Do not fix what is not broken. O'Natural had a great name, excellent products, reasonable prices, and a good variety. I wish the employees could get together and open up under the former name and menu.???
Sarasota: Best Seafood - Shrimp and Fish
Jim: Red Lobster closed all their joints in Maine.. They could not compete with the local restaurants because we understand that all their fish comes in frozen. They are also double or triple the cost of Capt. Brians. I also have visited Swordfish Grill next to Cortez Kitchen in Cortez once weekly for the last 4-weeks, and I must report that it is better then Star Fish. First of all, you don't have to eat out of a box. Secondly, you don't have to sit at a ugly picnic table, or worry about getting your auto dinged in the parking lot...
I am impressed with Swordfish Grill's menu, prices, and freshness of fish, not to mention a beautiful deck in the rear, on the water, with tables & chairs, or hi-tops right on the water, and guess what--they have waiter service......and a full bar......

I believe Bob's Boathouse is coming back into the restaurant business on the south trail down by Phillipi Park. The sign says "hiring", so it will be opening soon.

I think you are right on, but would substitute Clay Hill Farm for "On The Marsh" where we have gotten some great food, and the property is absolutely beautiful.

You will be fine in May..... But, another wonderful restaurant opened next to Cortez Kitchen called Swordfish Grill....
Really good, very reasonable, very clean and outdoor dining...

I really think Southside Deli used Boars Head Products. AS you say, it not the real stuff........As I mentioned a dozen times before, real corned beef or pastrami is not available in Sarasota.

How lucky we are..... I was @ Trader Joe's in Naples yesterday and it was a ZOO.....
The parking lot is way too small to accommodate their needs.... You would think they were giving food away free. I think I counted 8 people waiting to checkout at every register.......
The former Rooms To Go showroom on 41 South is a perfect location, with plenty of parking in the rear of the building.... It appears that it might also be a little larger then most Trader Joe's stores which is great....I must say that their prices are very low...

I think your choices are great.....
Marcy's has changed hands and have not heard anything about the new owners ability to cook so keep this in mind. We really enjoy Walters, Bintiff's, The Front Room and Street & Co is my favorite.....

Looking for Best Destination Restaurants in VT, NH, ME
We were at the Burning Tree in July (6-of us) and all of us were totally disappointed. We have been there many times, and always excellent. After we left I said they must of hired a hack chef because all the meals were below average. We WILL NOT return.....
SARASOTA....Sweet Tomatoes / your thoughts ???
I feel its a bus stop for the elderly....because the bus companies like to find stops that give large quantity for little $$. Food is good--if you don't mind standing in line and pushing the tray, but this type of dining is not for everyone.
