Much gratitude for the info guys. I feel at ease knowing that casual clothes and fine dining mix well in S.F. That is one less thing I need to stress over. And I will look into Saison.

I guess I meant price doesn't matter. I'm willing to go to a restaurant that may be considered a little "pricey."

I am not familiar with San Francisco at all but will be celebrating a loved one's birthday there. I'm looking for a restaurant with great food and wine. Not too upscale as this loved one doesn't like to dress up. I'm thinking more like business casual/smart casual. Price is not an option. But proximity is. The closer to Union Square the better. I've heard of Fleur de Lys and Masa? Of the two which one is better or does anyone have another suggestion. Thanks for the help.

If you like thai food, try saladangs. I love their beef salad and calamari.

If your looking for sweet, go for a rose. Roses are sweeter in general. Stay away from anything dry.
