Weekday Thai Lunch Buffet-Midtown-West It may not be on their website, but they do offer a separate lunch combo menu. |

good sushi lunch in Beverly Hills for less than $40/person Sushi Sushi has some prix fixe offers in that price range. Excellent quality sushi. |

Weekday Thai Lunch Buffet-Midtown-West Emporium Thai does, indeed, offer lunch combos. While they are a good value, they are not what dining there is really about. Analogous to Lotus of Siam, I suppose. |

Emporium Thai. 1275 Westwood Blvd. Same family as Jitlada. |

California Extra Virgin Olive Oil If you have a Trader Joe's near your, their California Estate Olive Oil is very good. Also a great value. |

Hatfields: Prix Fixe or Regular Menu? The website reflects exactly the prix fixe menu we were offered. I suspect it changes seasonally. |

Hatfields: Prix Fixe or Regular Menu? My wife and I were there a couple of weeks ago for our anniversary. We had the prix fixe menu. Although it's a good deal relative to ordering a la carte for four courses. I would not do it again. The kanpachi was very nice. The scallop and squid were unextraordinary. The cod was outstanding, however. We both had the duck as our final savory course. While the duck was perfectly cooked, the bed of cabbage it was served on was absurdly rich. I didn't know you could get so much butter into a vegetable without it leaking. All in all, it was just too much and too rich. Of course, your mileage may vary, but we both agreed we would only do a la carte if we returned. The Croque Madame sounds like it would be a good start. |

ISO Places Near Ontario Airport Just looking for a decent place for lunch. TIA. |

In Chinatown, CBS Seafood for dim sum, or JR Bistro for very good Chinese lunch dishes. Phillipe's, of course. |

Nice Patio breakfast in Santa Monica/Westside? The Georgian Hotel on Main in Santa Monica serves traditional American breakfast fare on its front veranda with a lovely view of the ocean. Also, Ocean and Vine in the Loewe's Hotel has a great view. Check out blackboardeats.com for a 30 percent discount for lunch. |
Le Pain Quotidien and Corner Bakery should both be viable options. |

Emporium Thai -- Westwood Jitlada Connection Just discovered this place. I was surprised to learn that this is where Jaz and the rest of Jitlada's staff began in 2000. The moved to their Sunset location in 2006 but the brother remained at Emporium. So, if your craving some Crying Tiger, you can get it in Westwood. 1275 Westwood Blvd. |

Tomorrow, Thursday, is the truck's last day. However, they will only be doing their hamburger. Today is the last day for porchetta. They're stopping truck service in order to work on the restaurant, which is supposed to open at the end of March. |

SGV Dim Sum Palaces that Offer Discounted Weekday Pricing? Add Ocean Star to the list. |

What's taking over Roman's in Sherman Oaks? I've been curious, too. From all I can tell it will not be a restaurant. Someone told me that it was going to be a branch of Chase bank. But considering that there's a Chase just a block away, that seems unlikely. |
Saw it yesterday at Jon's Marketplace on Sepulveda and Sherman Way. |

Yamadaya, particularly the Culver City branch is about as good as ramen gets. Suggest the extra spicy tonkotsu done yamadaya style. |

Has A1 Cuccina on Robertson become Il Buco again Yes. It changed back. Here's the story: |
Yes! I've had great success with getting a pork belly and wrapping it around a pork loin or pork tenderloin. Fabulous results. One of the best places to buy this is an Asian market like 99 Ranch, where they have a great selection of pork and you can visually figure what size of each cut you'll want to create the roast. |
Best (cheapest) place to buy 24 live maine lobsters for new years?? Don't know if it's still on but 99 Ranch had them for $5.99 lb for the last several weeks. They average about 1.5 lb. |
I've seen them pretty regularly at Ralph's Fresh Fare. |
The Day After: What do you do with the leftovers? I like Jimmy Kimmel's approach. He carefully removes all the turkey meat from the bones and puts the meat in Tupperware or sealed in plastic bags. Then he puts it in the fridge. Two weeks later he comes back and throws it all out. Says he's been doing it like this for years! |
Costco and Trader Joes fresh-turkeys I got a 16lb Foster Farms bird at Costco for 99 cents per lb. Smoked it. Excellent. |
Next Iron Chef Redemption: Episode 3 (spoilers) I must have missed something but can anyone tell me how Appleman finally ended up using a truffle in his dish when Marcel clearly indicated he wouldn't share? |

You're actually in Mecca for dining. Huge options, many of them the best for miles around. For good diner food, there's S & W Country Diner. For extremely authentic Pakistani/Indian fare for take out, check out Zam Zam Market. For great Indian buffet, try Mayoura. For upscale Asian, you've got Lukshon. For a casual dog, there's Let's Be Frank. City Tavern has very good sandwiches. Also you have Ben Ford's Filling Station. For Ramen, there's Yamadaya. For good breakfast/lunch at a good price there's Bistro Laurent. For pricey but superb sushi there's Sushi Zo. I'm sure others will chime in with many more. |

Lunch Tomorrow Near LAX Courthouse This is too easy! You want to go to Coni Seafood (formerly Mariscos Chente) where Sergio is at the stoves. Love the marlin tacos, but everything is great. They're at 355 West Imperial Hwy. About 5 minutes from the courthouse. |
