dog-friendly dining for foodies?

we ended up at angelini osteria at one of the two outdoor tables. beside having awesome food (the salt crusted branzino, pumpkin tortellini and braised artichokes are musts!) the staff was incredibly accommodating. call ahead to reserve. thanks again to everyone for your suggestions.

Where can I find the best crab cake?

santa monica seafood has yummy crabcakes.

Dinner Near Cedars Sinai

FAT FISH for sushi (robertson and melrose)
MONSIEUR MARCEL casual french bistro/wine bar (farmer's market)
IL PASTAIO italian (canon in Bev HIlls)
DOUGHBOYS for soups, salads, wraps, etc (3rd st near crescent heights)
LA CONVERSATION (doheny/SM blvd)
BREAD BAR (3rd st betw/la cienaga and robertson)
XIAN (best chinese on west side) canon in beverly hills
DOUG ARANGOs melrose and robertson
BLD upscale burgers, etc (beverly east of fairfax)

Low Carb Ice Cream

i thought i saw it in pavillions on sm blvd in weho. you might want to call them first.

One great LA dinner

i reccommend red pearl kitchen on melrose/labrea. just took a group there -- and it was a hit. pan asian, funky dishes, brothel-red decor and entertaining waiters.

Best Meatloaf - turkey or beef

the turkey meatloaf at joan's on 3rd is also very tasty...

Green Tea Ice Cream?

have you tried pinkberry's green tea option? it may not be double rainbow, but it's just as addictive.

dog-friendly dining for foodies?

BLD is dog friendly? now that's news. i've eaten there many times but never saw any canines.

foodie clubs

thanks for the info. i will check them all out. please let me know if you hear of others too. happy chowing!

foodie clubs

are there any gourmet foodie clubs or groups in LA? most of my friends are not into upscale food; i'm looking to find like-minded eaters who don't mind spending money on a good meal.

Sunday Challenge HELP!

PETE'S on 4th and main is a great place. i always go there before theater. entrees are probably on the high end of your price range, but they have great food and a old timey but hip "cheers-style" atmosphere.

Breakfast with a 'twist'!

i've also heard square one in los feliz is great but have yet to get there

Breakfast with a 'twist'!

you could always brave the lines at Griddle Cafe or Cheebo on Sunset. or what about the circus scene at Marix?

Robertson/Burton Way- Favorite Restaurants?

try FAT FISH, on robertson and melrose, one of my favorite spots. they have great sushi and creative pan asian cuisine, as well as a creative bar menu. go there for happy hour (5-7) when all the drinks (including fresh fruit juice martinis) and appetizers are half off. you can make a dinner of it.

another favorite happy hour (or any hour) spot is NIC'S MARTINI LOUNGE on canon and little santa monica. they have a huge martini list, a vodka tasting bar and great apps. the herb seasoned fries are to die for.

another place i recently discovered just around the corner on melrose is DOUG ARANGOS. more a restaurant than a bar, they're family-owned, very friendly, and have great atmosphere. monday night is burger night. try their thin crust pizzas on any night.

doughboys and toast on 3rd, east of la cienaga are my faves, and very popular. but there can be long lines at DB, even at 10 pm. their french onion soup is addicting.

Solo dining at Orris or Nook?

i love nook but have only been there with others. that said, i'd feel comfortable going there alone.

dog-friendly dining for foodies?

just checked out the LAT review on abode. sounds like the perfect place for dinner. the other suggestions look great for lunch.

fyi, i was at fraiche last week and thought it was just so-so for the price. stay far away from the white gazpacho. it tasted like chalk.

dog-friendly dining for foodies?

thanks to all. these are great suggestions. i'm actually a toast and doughboy regular. BD (before dog), these friends (originally from NYC) ate in the best restaurants. their cooking far surpasses that of most top-rated. and since i'm their food guide to LA, i've got a challenge. i think they're hoping i'll find a dog-friendly AOC or Mozza. hmmm...

dog-friendly dining for foodies?

some foodie friends are coming in from tucson with their labrador this weekend. i'm in charge of finding an LA hotspot that's dog-friendly. any suggestions? prefer something north of the 10 and east of the 405.
