When it comes to dining recommendations Trip Advisor isn't my choice ever! BTW: I'm a Senior Contributor for TA.
IF you like Sushi I would go directly from the Airport to Mitch's Sushi which is a mile away. If not there maybe Nico's or JJ Dolan's depending on your food mood.
Not a fan of Outrigger , HWAK is always good.
Unless your a intermediate Surfer or better I'd skip N. Shore for a surf lesson and switch to Waikiki. The Food in N. Shore is weak other than Luibueno's (Mex).
Roy's on Sat night needs to be early because they get slammed. Actually like Hawaii Kai one better lately.
Leonards isn't anything more than a Malasada (donut) place. How about Cafe Kaila or Sweet E's?
Sun Dinner - Le Bistro (Nui Valley) for some of the finest food on this Island or Azure or Michel's
pass on Uncle Bo's, La Marina (disgusting).
Mon: L- Legends D: Sasabune $$$$ (finest Sushi, worth it)
Tue : Pass on D @ Hau Tree. Instead Michel's , Azure, Le Bistro, Alan Wong's.

@Hunt: "Puka Dog is a stop when I have my kids with me....because it's fun".
On the other side of the coin we pass it all the time and don't like it at all.
Recommend Hank's Hotdogs nearby instead, way better.

We love Mitch's & Gaku.
We normally order what we want at Sasabune by sitting at a table.
Lunch on east side of hwy.
My favorite Luibueno dish is his fresh Scallop Plate. Don't go there expecting great Mex Street food. It's strengths are Seafood dishes.

Sushi, Pasta's , Main Courses were all above average. Definitely worth a visit.

Went for lunch today. Pretty darn good! In fact we're going back soon.
The quality and presentation is well worth the $19- lunch price during the week.
Weekends are $48- all day just like dinner during the week.

I don't spend a lot of time debating with other CH's about Honolulu , especially because I live here and have my own opinions but we have had several fine dinners at Morimoto's , including opening night. Chef's tasting menu recommended.

@ Joebob: Kind of. Went to Pig and the Lady last night at the Blaisdell Farmers Market. Really good!! Prima has a Pop up coming up soon but not sure I'm going yet.
Probably trying Five Star International buffet next week for lunch and Arancino del Mare for lunch also (karma aina deal $10.82 instead of $18-).

Was going to La Mer for (lunch) today (private room) with my Mon Wine group but they decided to limit us to 6 bts for 10 ppl which won't work so we moved it to Wolfgang's.

@Hunt: We live 5 mins away from La Mer on the same Beach so it's very convenient to have dinner there. We've been many times over the last 25 yrs. We ALWAYS order the Chef's Tasting menu and it's been lack luster the last few years. Presentation always splendid but the taste and flavor is lacking. Many recent reviews on other sites seem to agree. Lot's of wine seems to compensate for the short comings along with great service from Stepan.

"Degustation Menu" only and wasn't that impressed with his recent retrospect version.
He lost his Chef de Cuisine to Disney several months ago.
I'll be interested in your opinion of LE BISTRO which I'm confident will be a stellar experience.
Alan Wong's has been doing some really good FM Dinners monthly which are pretty good. The reg Tasting menu has suffered with some "misses" the last couple of years but it's always dependable and reasonable. aloha
Azure just was honored by Jame's Beard again and flew in their Chef for the annual dinner. We were invited to the test dinner along with 38 other people. Good stuff.
