I was at the Dedham MA store today and they were sampling CJ chicken cilantro mini wontons. Tasty enough that I walked out with a bag. Has anyone tried the fresh ravioli? Specifically, I was curious about the lobster ravioli and the chicken and mozzarella?

Best Bolognese in town

Was at Delfino's last night and tried the bolognese.......yes!....aMAZing!

Best Bolognese in town

I have never tried the bolognese at Delfinos. I will be there in a couple of weeks and may just have to try it!

Best Bolognese in town

Not Boston, but the bison bolognese at the Abbey in Brookline is excellent.

Quincy Peeps: Italy's Little Kitchen?

Carnitas: The Sequel....

Not a food reply but I just want to say CONGRATS to the Broncos!! We here in New England are very much looking forward to next week's game!

Why are my chocolate chip cookies so flat?

I too have had problems with flat cookies for years! Made them yesterday using the dark pans, no chilling and this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/best-chocolate-chip-cookies/ and they came out perfect! This entire thread has been very informative!

A CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE "AH-HA!" MOMENT AND OTHER COOKIE EPIPHANIES

THANK YOU!! I gave up on CC years ago because mine were always flat! I just made these today and they are beautiful! I did not chill the dough and I used dark cookie sheets. I used an ice cream scooper (not sure the size) and I cooked them for 14 minutes instead of 10 because of their size. Came out perfectly golden!

super-delicious, super-flavourful broccoli recipe?

Great! Thank you!

Where do you find this at Costco? The produce section....?

Dressy cocktails with light food?

What about the Oak Bar? It has been quite some time since I have been there but I always enjoyed sipping on a martini, listening to live music (do they still offer that) and having a few appetizers.

super-delicious, super-flavourful broccoli recipe?

Here is a very flavorful but very unhealthy broccoli salad recipe but it is soooooo tasty!

Brocolli Salad Recipe:

2 cups of Mayo
4 Tbsp red wine vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
Mix and refrigerate overnight

Fry and crumble 1 lb bacon
8oz shredded cheddar cheese
1 med red onion (minced)
2-3 heads brocolli flowerettes, and chop into small pieces

Pour dressing on and mix well.. Add dressing little bit at time. You do not want to drench it. You can always add more but you can't take away!

Quincy Peeps: Italy's Little Kitchen?

Do you mean it is on the backside of Starbucks? I am taking some classes at Quincy College and would love to grab some good Italian takeout to bring home!

super-delicious, super-flavourful broccoli recipe?

I roast at 425 degrees for about 15-20 minutes but all ovens run differently so you may want to adjust accordingly. Also - depending how big the florets are will dictate how long it takes. I like it slightly tender but still with a crunch!

super-delicious, super-flavourful broccoli recipe?

It is simple but I love just tossing in the oven with some Evoo, galic, S&P and roasting and then I pull it out and top with some shaved parm.

Modified Alfredo sauce help!

Split pea soup - forgot to remove dried bay leaf...

I guess I am not too concerned because as I was typing my original post, I was eating the soup.....lol!! And it is delicious!

Split pea soup - forgot to remove dried bay leaf...

before I used the immersion blender....opps! I am sure I am not the 1st person to do this and will probably not be the last but there is no need for concern....yes?

Items that last for weeks Or months in the fridge?

Yup - me too! I keep both butter and eggs for long periods of time and have never had any problems.

Your BEST crockpot chili or something else I can crock up

Found canned tomatillo at the grocery store today! Looking forward to making this for Super Bowl Sunday!

Absolute Best Risotto You Will EVER Eat: Toasted Pistachio Gorgonzola Dolce

The OP states "The above recipe will serve at least eight."

Your BEST crockpot chili or something else I can crock up

This looks wonderful! If I cannot get my hands on fresh tomatillo, is there a substitution? Also, will any kind of beer work? Thanks!

I want to love my slow cooker, can you help?

I love it for soups, stews and chilis. I like throwing a roasting chicken or whole breasts in and then I pick the meat of for other uses -i.e pot pie, enchiladas, burritos, casseroles, etc. And yes, pulled pork is a great idea but add the sauce at the end.

Funniest Thing a Server Said to You

I asked her if the mushrooms were fresh. And she said, "Yes. Like, they come in a can,"

Post Your Three Favorite Things You ate in Boston in 2011

That is disappointing! Was it recently because I know they have changed chefs within the past month and I wonder if that had something to do with it?

Post Your Three Favorite Things You ate in Boston in 2011

I do not get out nearly as often as I would like but here are some standouts in my mind:

Butternut Squash Risotto - Porter Cafe

Chicken Saltimbocca - Carlos Cuccina

Linguine with Littlenecks in a White Sauce - Massiminos

.....and I am cheating but I need to add one more: the seared scallop appetizer served over celeriac mash with a balsamic fig reduction at Delfino's.
