Breakfast in Los Angeles?

My favorite breakfast in LA is Madame Matise, I think they have the best Blueberry pancakes and they have a great poached eggs with salmon and watercress sauce with crispy potato cake. I don't get to go out for Breakfast much so when I do and it is underwhelming I always wish I was at MM.

Breakfast with a 'twist'!

How about dusty's?(Sunset Blvd Just before Parkman on the way to echo park) there dinner is no good at all, but I like the breakfast, cool atmosphere, bustling, funky and fun, I think it rocks.

I know you all hate Todai here but which one

I barely escaped that place with my palate intact, I wouldn't eat there if it was free.
IMHO it is the mass marketing of complete garbage, it must work some people, because they are still open, god bless their souls.

Senor Fish

Ya I just had a perfectly good fried scallop taco at the south Pas location, it was good but I miss the magic of the stand that used to be in Highland Park.

Another Arclight Dining Question

Well Considering that it is a cafe in a movie theatre, albeit possibly the world’s greatest movie house, it is not too shabby. I am fond of the Chinese chicken salad and the steak sandwich. I like the eating area and the upstairs cafe too, getting you to your movie takes a lot of the anxiety out of pre movie dinning.

What I would avoid is the new place that opened next door, Charcoal. The too-cool to be waiting on you waiters may have got me my food in time to see my movie, but it was for not, the Fried Chicken tenders where raw in the center and the salad on which they rested was barely worth the effort it took to chew it. The steaks may have fared better, but going back would not be an easy choice, the menu prices are way too high, and all in all I felt cheap and used afterwards.

Comfort me: REAL Corned Beef Hash.

One more vote for Madame Matise, It is not the best I have ever had, but it is the best I have had on a regular basis around LA

Where are the great steakhouses in LA?

One of my favorites is the Porterhouse Bistro on Wilshire Blvd, they offer a $40 four course Prix Fix meal which comes with 2 drinks (if you don't drink you are out of luck)The big idea here is that you bring a date and you both get the Prix Fix and you get the Monster Porterhouse for 2, they carve it tableside, meat quality is fairly good and they have mastered the illusive art of cooking a Porterhouse without overcooking one side or the other. Well I mean you would think if you call your place porterhouse you would be able to do this but I find most places overcook the fillet side of the Porterhouse/Tbone.

Anyway I would say a great place for a date, an good place for a steak.
