Was there Wednesday of last week. Duck and grilled calamari were fantastic.
The wine however is a rip off. I can't remember what I originally ordered but they substituted Fuzion shiraz/malbec. It was bland, tasteless and $45. A quick search of the LCBO later lists this product as $7.45 retail. 600% mark-up? Keep it.
Sunday dining in Anchorage?
I've been scouring the posts and found great recommendations for Anchorage but all seem to close Sunday!
Can anyone suggest a great Sunday dinner spot? We're both industry. Decor not important. Food is.

Toronto Hounds spending a week in Ottawa
I had an excellent meal at the Sweet Grass Bistro last week. The Tatonka (Buffalo) ribeye was outstanding.
Where to eat in Ottawa?
My husband and I dined at the Sweetgrass Bistro on Murray this past Saturday. The chargrilled Buffalo ribeye was amazing as was the Lingcod.
Best food/prepared food buys at Costco ?
I find their Kirkland brand preportioned salmon to be less than desirable. However, they occasionally stock Norwegian salmon filets (they come skin-on). They have a higher fat content (making them very flavourful) and are the best on the grill.

I promise you...it's rich, fully decadent and not the slightest bit oily.
Keg Lobster fest.
The Keg is dishing out 2lb lobsters this season which explains their higher than usual price tag!
My advice: ask the server to get you an undressed lobster, packed with roe and live when it hits the steamer.
Indian Kiss leaves you breathless!
I ran across a fantastic gem in the Junction called Indian Kiss. They're doing strictly take-out with the option to call ahead so they can have your dinner ready when you arrive.
Fabulous fresh flavors, homemade yogurt and a to--die-for mango lassi. Butter chicken, the chef's specialty, is bright, fresh and rich. Their entire menu is focused on healthy eating: nothing deep-fried, nothing oily and the meat is lean and well-trimmed!
Hands down the best Indian cuisine in the west end! I can't wait to go back.

Supermarket?
They have a Funk night on Fridays.....usually very good. The other nights really depend on the quality of the band.
In terms of food.....excellent. The chef is very talented and offers Asian fusion small plates. Go earlier in the evening so that your meal doesn't bleed into the "club" part of the night.

Private Party Venue
Just to clarify for anyone offering suggestions....we aren't planning a sit-down reception. A medium-sized restaurant/lounge/gallery that has a small patio will meet our needs.

I'm looking for a venue for a private party. We're inviting 150 of our friends and family to celebrate our wedding. It'll be on a Saturday night (July 21). It should have a small patio (for the smokers) and a kitchen that can crank out some modest canapes. Any suggestions?
