They have a FB page. I sent a message regarding the name change, and the fact they did not have any name tags on their hot food selections. Here is the response... "Thanks for your recent visit and the valuable comment. We keep trying to post tags on every food but the menu varies so frankly it's quite like a burden to catch-up everyday. Anyway I agree with you that all foods must have tags and we'll try our best to do it." They also said they would pass on my name change recommendation to management. I would think they could come up with some system to have laminated tags made for the most common dishes that are not clearly identifiable. My husband eats fish, but no meat or poultry, tags or some other mechanism would really help out.

I posted this on the NY State board, but it's 2 feet away from the NJ border and I think it could be a good place eventually. The name is a problem. They should change it to something simple, like seafood/sushi/bbq buffet. No one knows what the heck it is if you go by the name alone. I'm planning to return this weekend to give it another try Here's my repost:
Went to check it out on Friday. It's a decent buffet a step up from something like the Hard WoK Buffet. Decent sashimi, sushi, cold snow crab claws, given I can eat a ton of these items, I think at $32/pp it was priced accordingly. The hot items were not as good. I did enjoy the soup, miso, udon, and the cold soba noodles. The BBQ was ok too I had 1 rib, and a piece of the brisket. The end cut of the brisket was really fatty, I like it like that, most people may not. Desserts were lacking, ice cream, a chocolate fountain, fresh fruit and what looked like Pepperidge Farm cookies.

Best cheap buffets?

On the border of Northvale NJ in Tappan NY is the new Bon Fahyr Buffet. I posted about it on the NY board. It's similar to Minado, but it does focus a bit more on BBQ. It's Korean owned. It is similar in price to Minado. If you are into sushi, I'd recommend it to you, but if you just like the BBQ there may not be enough assortment for you. Here's what I said on the NY board. ---Went to check it out on Friday. It's a decent buffet a step up from something like the Hard WoK Buffet. The one big complaint - there were no signs on the hot food so if you did not know what you would be eating and not all were discernible enough to figure it out. I will go back on Mother's Day to give it another try. Will report back if I go.

The have a great happy hour. Stiff cocktails are $5, and they have a list of full size appetizers for $5-6, the nachos are really good, we also get the grilled artichoke, and summer rolls. I like the buffalo blasts too. Such a great deal. Worth checking out. If you treat it as the chain it is you won't be going in with high expectations, and leave happy.

I'm disappointed, about the cost of the hot dog, even a 12" shouldn't be $4.25. I hope onions and kraut are at least considered a condiment, and not a topping ea. .75. Then again the Filling Station, on 9W gets 4.50 for a smaller dog... We were at the Windmill in Long Branch over the weekend, I don't recall the price on their dogs, but don't think they were that expensive, and they are about the same in size. Oh well, frequent visits will not be an option with my family. Better for my waistline.

Need a great Falafel recipe

I took their recipe, and bits from Mark Bittman's baked falafel. The balls came out very cake like. I'm not sure if I would have fried them they would have been better. The flavor was good. I added a bit more parsley, and ground coriander. If I do them again, I will try pan frying. (I do not care for deep frying).

Need a great Falafel recipe

I took bits of this recipe and Mark Bittman's baked falafel. While they came out tasty, they were mushy, almost cakey rather than dense like I am accustom to. I did bake them. If I fried them, I wonder if the consistency would have been more appealing?

Spaghetti with ketchup - does anyone else eat this?

I'm the OP for this post. Wanted to update it with a recent discovery that I enjoyed. The other day I cooked up a box of Kraft macaroni and cheese for my daughter. Thought about this old post, and decided to add some ketchup to the bowl. My daughter wouldn't even taste it, but I really enjoyed it! If you enjoy spaghetti with ketchup give this a try.

Patisserie Didier Dumas in Nyack

My most favorite item, (I don't know what it's called) but it's 2 very crisp pastries shaped like a fan with raspberry jam filling. They are SO good. I also like their macarons, much less costly than those in NYC. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with are the crepes. They were too heavy for me. I like mine thin. It could have been the batter,or the person preparing, not sure.

I'm not sure, it was flat, and it had a end that was pointed. More fat would have been much better, I think this one was too lean.

Can My Corned Beef Be Saved?

I wrapped the whole piece in foil tightly. Baked for about 40 more min at 350, and it came out fine. I like my corned beef a bit more on the fatty side, and this was tender, but could have used a bit more fat. Thanks for all of the advice.

ok, I will try the baking method, but wouldn't slicing in and baking dry it out? I've seen some folks put a blend of mustard any other ingredients on theirs when baking. Any thoughts?

I boiled a corned beef according to the package directions. Had to stop into the 2nd hour. It needed 30 min more. Now I have a tough piece of meat that I need to serve tonight. Can I just heat up for the additional 30 min lost last night? Should I bake it? Anyway to get it to be more tender?

Underwhelming Coq Au Vin

I made this the other day in a Dutch oven. I used bits from the William Sonoma recipe, and Julia Childs. It was really good! So tasty and rich. When I glance at your recipe I see it has no cognac, and no bacon. Try these recipes out the next time, you won't be disappointed.

DVine I really like it here. It's close to home, and when I get off the bus from NYC, it's right there which makes it super convenient. The only drawback for me is that it is pricey to go there all the time.

Good brunch in Nyack area

D'Vine Bar in Sparkill is now open for brunch. I have only been there for dinner and apps. It's a bit pricey but their food is great!

The other day I was there for a cocktail and an appetizer, just killing time at the bus stop. I had the greatest fried Brussel sprouts. They were crispy, dry, but in a good way, with a coating of parm, and rosemary. So tasty!
