1 lb. Can of Lump Crab Meat - What's Your Favorite Recipe?

I can eat most nuts, but walnuts and pecans (more so) give me a very scratchy throat. I would opt for the regular pastry crust. Now I just have to have a party to serve this.

Yes, but it was more than 4 years ago. I'm going to try the burger again next time I go. We were there again and had the flat bread pizza which was pretty good. It's a good place, the food is decent, the operators very friendly, and prices are low enough to bring the family. + they changed their fries, and have wedges which are better than the frozen steak fries they previously served.

Can you do it with a different crust, I can't eat pecans everything else sounds great. (No worries I am not holding onto the original can since I 1st posted this) :)

We've been back a few times now. They have a good special, a pint with a pizza (bar size) or burger. I think it's 12-14 for the 2 of them. Not a bad deal. Fish tacos were good and under 10. Same fries though... wish they'd make their own!

Spaghetti with ketchup - does anyone else eat this?

I'm the OP on this, I was only able to reveal myself after I saw I wasn't that strange after all! I'm very happy to see that there are plenty others who eat ketchup on their spaghetti, and I no longer have any shame for doing so :)!

Trader Joe's YAY/NAY - March 2014 [OLD]

Yay with a bit of Nay on the Butternut squash creamed spinach gratin. I transferred it into a Pyrex dish and baked it in the oven rather then microwaving.; It was very rich, good overall flavor, except for a bit too much cheesiness. I would buy it again. Makes a good simple side. Too rich for an entree.

Why do people go to All-You-Can-Eat Buffets?

Here's my take, it's a bit rambling... My family enjoys AYCE buffet. Particularly a good seafood, Indian, brunch or Asian buffet. #1. You can eat as much of your favorite dish as you like, i.e. lobster (at the better buffets, i.e. the Manor in West Orange NJ) shrimp, crab legs, anything shellfish are our favorites. #2. You can sample dishes you normally would not eat. This is especially good for the Indian buffets #3 There is usually something for everyone in your party #4 A typical buffet is far less expensive than going to a diner for a full dinner. #5 I like the condiments at Indian and Asian buffets. Every Mother's Day we go to the Hilton for their annual brunch. It just dawned on me another reason I like them especially the brunches... you can tell the chef how you would like something, i.e. I want the end cut of that part of the prime rib, or I'd like that turkey wing, or that crispy bit of lamb over there. I'd like my omelet with extra cheese, and watch it as it cooks to your perfection. #6 I also think buffets are good for those who like to control their food.

Cheesecake Factory..I am being forced to go

The last time I was there they were sold out of 2 apps I wanted to try, one was a mini fried chili rellano (I guess it might be like a popper, but sounded much better), the other a tempura shrimp dish with a spicy sweet mayo drizzle. We always get the fire roasted artichoke heart, I like their nachos, the lettuce wraps are ok, and their angel hair shrimp scampi dinner is a favorite of ours.

Did it taste very smoky? I just don't like it when the smoke is all you taste.

They sampled the scallion pancakes. Bought a package. They are very good.

Anyone try the ghost pepper grinder? I am tempted, but chicken, looking for a guinea pig.

They may do slices, I just wasn't looking for them. The one thing the other place had that I didn't see here was a broccoli rabe sandwich. The previous place had a really good one.

Yes, I didn't try the regular sized pizza yet, the personal wasn't too special. Hoping the 16" will be good. Although it was a bit pricey. We tried to go last night again. The restaurant wasn't really busy, but we couldn't find a parking space. We went to Baileys instead.

They had local, the only one I remember by name was Defiant. I had one of my favorites, Dog Fish Head, and there were about 15 or so on a board. For a small place I thought there were a lot of options.

Piermont Pub

We went to the Piermont Pub (formerly Piermont Pizza). They have a great beer selection. The bar is small, but it has a cozy appeal, and they have 1 TV. Would suggest getting another one or two. Started with fried pickles, they were in a good crisp batter, served with lettuce, the lettuce started to moisten the chips, so I just put them on a napkin to re-crisp. Lettuce and fried foods, just don't go together. Could have used more pickle chips, as they can't be too expensive to produce a bit more on the plate. My burger was one of the best I've had around Rockland. Cooked perfectly med. rare, super juicy and flavorful, We also ordered the fish and chips, cooked perfectly, could have had more fries, and I wish they used home made fries vs. frozen. The personal margarita pizza was ok, the sauce was lacking a bit. Overall we are looking forward to going back and glad to have a place like this that is reasonable, good beer, and nice folks running it.

North Wales area for Steak Au Poivre

Thanks I saw Arianna's and since he does love veal marsala, that might be doable. Hope he feels better soon so we can get there!

What's The One Thing You Can't Eat, even for money.

Add you price to your reply, that's part of the fun of this topic to see what how much money you think it would take for you to eat your least desirable "normal" food.

Can I substitute Gochujang for Thai Chili Paste?

Correct - I am going to cook Thai Red Curry Shrimp. I bought the Thai Curry Paste did not want to chance it. you know shrimp are not cheap :) -

Thanks for all the info. Now what do you like to do with the gochujang? I've used it mostly as a condiment, like you would ketchup, any favorite uses?

Can I substitute Gochujang for Thai Chili Paste?

Would the dish work using it, even if they don't taste alike? I was thinking since the Thai dish calls for adding sugar, it might work and still be tasty. I searched and found this - still sounds good. http://www.flickr.com/photos/craiglyo...
