"12 Bagels" Frankford and Tollway
We stopped in the other day and had a bagel. It was still their soft opening so their selection was limited. The bagel was good I asked how much a dozen is and they charge $12.99 for a dozen. Deli News charges $10.99 for a dozen. I didn't see that 12 Bagels bagels were $2 better than Deli News.

We stopped by Sunday about 2 but it was closed. there was a man inside reading the paper but the door was locked and when we peeked inside the cases looked empty. There wasn't a sign telling their hours and the man didn't come to the door.

Thanks. I think that I will ask Michael. I emailed Rokeach, but they don't sell it anymore in any form. One time a while ago when I realized that my bottle was almost empty I found a place that sold the chunk style in bulk, but I didn't want a pallet of it. Maybe I should have bought one and repackaged it for resale since no one seems to carry it in that form anymore :-).

Thanks. I've tried TT, etc, but all that I can find are bottles of granulated/powdered. Years ago I bought bottles of chunks/crystals, but after all of these years I ran out. I use it in stuffed cabbage and in my sweet and sour cabbage. I'm having a hard time figuring out how much granulated equals the amount of chunks that I used.

Costco carries Campari tomatoes and they are good. Some of the grocery stores also carry them.

I saw a sign in the Albertson's center on Frankford and the Tollway for a new bagel place called " 12 Bagels" . Has anyone heard anything about this place? It hasn't opened yet.
Trader Joe's coming to Fort Worth, I hope
I went to the Trader Joe's website and entered my zip code and the Plano location came up with COMING SOON . When I entered " Dallas " in the search field , the same note with the Greenville location came up. If I just entered "Texas", then the 3 in our area (Fort Worth, Dallas and Plano) came up. But, if I entered "Houston" then the Houston location came up.

We passed by the Preston/Park location yesterday and there is construction going on.
Where can I find the best fried chicken in DFW? 15 mile radius of Irving would be great!
Our favorite is Babes and they have multiple locations around the Metroplex. That would be my recommendation. If you want take out we like Chicken Express. It's not Babe's, but it is good.
Trader Joe's coming to Fort Worth, I hope

Trader Joe's has announced two new locations for stores, including one in Dallas and one in Plano.
The Dallas store will open on Lower Greenville Avenue where the Arcadia Theater stood.
In Plano, the store will open in an old Kroger at Preston and Park, in the same shopping center as outdoorsy store REI.
Trader Joe's told the DMN that the Plano store will open in the spring, while the Dallas store will open in the fall.

If you go through Madisonville be sure to stop at Buck-ees. It's a gas station with a huge convenience store. If you like candied jalapenos, they have some that are great. They also have a deli counter.

They are fabulous. We discovered them the first day we were in Bordeaux and loved them so much we had them every day that we were there.

Our favorite is Babe's. However, if we want to take out, Chicken Express is good. I really miss Youngblood's. There is a restaurant in Austin that has the Youngblood's recipe.

I just heard on the radio that TJ announced that their first store is going to be in Ft Worth and the second store is going to be in the Woodlands.
Would like some Vicksburg MS and surrounding area restaurant recommendations
I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. We ate lunch at Walnut Hill at a round table (round tables are only at lunch). The food was very good, but the vegetables were luke warm or cold. Fried chicken was not on the round table menu that day, but they made some special for us. For dinner we went to Rusty's. The manager at our hotel told us that if we weren't very hungry (which we weren't) and if we wanted grouper, to order the grouper sandwich instead of the grouper dinner. The fish on the sandwich was very good (and a large portion) and the sandwich was about 1/3 the price of the dinner. The next day we had a buffet at one of the casinos and it was ok, but not great (however, it was fine for the price). That night we at dinner at Billy's which is an Italian restaurant in the outlet mall (someone at our round table had suggested it). We were pretty full from lunch so we split a Pizza. Not my favorite meal. On Sunday we ate lunch at the Old Southern Tea Room. It was ok, but not great. The shrimp and grits needed a lot of seasoning, the tea biscuits looked and tasted like they had been reheated. and the other selections were limited..
We would definitely eat again at Walnut Hill and Rusty's.

We are going to be in Vicksburg MS for a few days and would appreciate some restaurant recommendations. We drove through there a year or so ago and ate at the round table at Walnut Hills so that will probably be on our list.
Nosh Bistro Questions.....
We were there for Restaurant Week. The food was great and the service excellent. The room that we were in had a tv screen showing what was going on in the kitchen. Not as exciting as sitting at the chef's table, but a way to see what's going on in the kitchen while seated in a quiet room. Before we left we peeked into the wine celler. It would be a nice place for a small group.
