Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market - Saturdays [San Francisco]

Go early, you will not regret it. After 9 or so, it gets really crowded.

Hatch Green Chiles 2014

I think I may have posted this somewhere before, but I once bought 25 lbs and checked them as luggage in a bag (long before 9/11) and my luggage was lost for two days--quite a disaster, but they did compost well.

just a container, not a 25 lb bag?

By the way, no one has mentioned that I think it is very difficult to find formal/fancy dining in Healdsburg.

Okonomiyaki: SFBA Dish of the Month August 2014

I have had this twice at the same place in Tokyo. I am pretty sure it could not have been considered a sweet potato pancake. We liked it so much the first time that we went back a second time. Not quite as good, but slightly different, whatever was in the kitchen as mentioned earlier.

Makeshift Poll: what would have been better than the new Q&A format?

I do not want to read every post 5, 10 15 times to sort through answers. Why can't you ask questions in discussions? That is what normal people do or maybe the question is used to do.

Chambre and/or table d'hote in Austria Countryside worth the detour?

We had a wonderful meal at Gasthof Eberhard in St. Michael. We did not stay there but that was available. Definitely local. Chef/owner very friendly and great food. We were there in September 2011. Venison with sauce that used pumpkin oil. Last peaches from the garden in a wonderful dessert. Styrian food. Sturmi on this board has posted about it also.

destination food shopping from Santa Rosa to Cloverdale?

The Healdsburg farmer's market is really nice. The Bernier garlic and Dry Valley Peaches are really great, as are other things.

It shouldn't be this hard to participate. . .

I cannot do things that I could do this morning. It is not supposed to be work to communicate on this board. Why is it so hard? and don't make this a Q & A.

Serving Prosecco

I've had a Prosecco lees-aged that I bought one year from Kermit Lynch. I rather liked it but it disappeared. I don't think it sold well.

Bramley apples near San Francisco?

Bramley Seedling is sometimes sold by the Apple Farm. I have no idea whether it is the "Bramley'.

Venice restaurant picks?

We ate at Fiaschetteria Toscana a few years back and had wonderful service. We ate outside under a tent so do not know upstairs, downstairs or asking for a waiter, but simply wonderful service and fantastic food. The same waiter deftly handled an obnoxious couple at a large table and continued his service to everyone else without missing a beat.
