Celebratory Dinner in Sacaramento
Thanks for your suggestions! I should have also said that it doesn't need to be close by, we'll have a car service.
Celebratory Dinner in Sacaramento
My husband and I will be in Sacramento next week (staying at the Hyatt). We are looking for a fantastic restaurant to celebrate. Price is not a factor nor is the dress code. Hubby does not eat seafood. I look forward to your responses. Thanks!!
PHX--Aiello's Back Door Pizza
Has anyone had the pizza lately? We loved, loved, loved it at first and the last two orders have been marginal at best.
Chocolate Bread Update
I got my baguette at AJ's on Central yesterday. Got home, spread some nutella on it and thuroughly enjoyed myself! I was nice and shared some with my husband. lol

Review: Floyd's Kitchen - Phoenix (w/ photos!)
My husband and I went to Floyd's today for dinner. We've looked forward to going there since it was first mentioned on CH. Our meals were both delicious. I had the soup of the day and a wedge salad. The soup of the day was Seafood Chowder. The chowder had lots of scallops, shrimp, clams and was cream based. Very, very good. The wedge was delicious also. The iceberg wedge was topped with their home made blue cheese, maple bacon, tomatoes, red onion and blue cheese crumbles. The dressing and bacon were wonderful.
My husband had the meatball sandwich. It came with a side of roasted potatoes and pasta salad. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and delicious. The pasta salad was "just okay" he said. The meatball sandwich was really good.
The service was great and we both look forward to going there again.
Corned Beef Hash Phoenix
Good Morning!
I am craving corned beef hash and have no idea where to get some in the Valley. I am always afraid to ordered it in case it shows up like the canned variety, I've been burned too many times on that scenario. Anyone have any suggestions on where I can feed this craving? Thanks!
PHX--Aiello's Back Door Pizza
We had the pizza tonight and it was delicious! Thanks for the rec!
Phoenix / Scottsdale Where to go to for a "pampered" dinner?
Thanks for the rec, alas Kai is closed from 8/9 to 9/10.
Phoenix / Scottsdale Where to go to for a "pampered" dinner?
Hey folks,
My friend wants to celebrate (or have a wake) over her divorce being final. She wants to go out to dinner and be "pampered". I've already considered NOCA, God knows I love that place and Elliott and his staff are so good at pampering. The group of girls just went there last month so I may find some of them wanting to go to a different place. I also thought of J&G Steak at the Phoenician and Bourbon Steak at The Fairmont. Any other "pampered" restaurants out there that I am not thinking of. Thanks!

That pizza looks great! We are looking forward to trying it this week.
Chandler breakfast recs needed
Thanks for great recs!
Yep love the Farm at So. Mtn. BUT have never been there for breakfast. Would be easy to swing around that way.
The Hangar Cafe sounds like fun, husband would love the airplanes. We go to the Deer Valley Airport on occasion for their breakfast.
Since husband HATES to drive further than 5 or 6 miles, lol, and is already whining about having to drive to Chandler. LOL I think going any further away from the area would send him over the edge. I used to live in Cave Creek and when we were dating I'd joke that he'd have to pack a lunch just to come see me. ;)
Chandler breakfast recs needed
Hi all!
Headed to Chandler tomorrow and need some breakfast recs. Thoughts?
As always,
Thanks!
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
Hey Everyone!
Thanks for all the posts!!! Sorry to have been MIA. Okay, he FINALLY took me to NOCA. Loved it! We went at the end of November perhaps the beginning of December. We've been back 5 times since. I love that you can dress up or down there. The food, obviously, is incredible. The service has been phenomenal. Thanks for all the input. I still want and need to get to Voltair.
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
How nice, the rant was removed.
Seth, I have been wanting to try Voltaire ever since reading your first accolades regarding it. I love tableside presentations. My SO is a WWII Pacific buff and he would probably love to listen in on some of those conversations.
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
I was looking for suggestions, not rants. Thanks anyhow.
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
Yeah I know it's an "old school" thought, but mostly I was trying to get the idea across of what we would be wearing. To my SO dressed up means wearing his nice jeans. LOL
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
I love Marcellino. The food is superb, the service and ambiance are spot on and it's so close to home! I agree with Bill that it's the best Italian in the Valley.
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
Ah, good suggestion there Bill, thanks. We are trying to decide between Lon's and Vincents....life is tough! LOL
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
Ooohhhh I like the Voltaire idea as well, I've wanted to go there for awhile.
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
Both are great suggestions..thanks. I suppose a fancy cocktial dress and suit would not be over dressed?
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
Good question...no on the noise part. He's more comfortable with quiet/romantic.
Need a rec for a Phx "dressed up" date night
Hi all!
Now that Mary Elaine's is gone where is another spot that my SO and I can go in evening clothes? You know, a "jacket required" restaurant. He owes me a glitzy evening out and I am drawing a complete blank on where to go. We are in central phoenix, however location is not a huge issue. Thanks in advance for your help!
Need Recs for Tampa
Thanks for the suggestions. We are looking forward to trying them out!
Need Recs for Tampa
Hi all you Florida CH'rs!
My SO and I are heading to Tampa 8/11 - 8/14, staying at the Intercontinental and doing business at MacDill AFB, we will have a car. I am looking for breakfast and dinner recs. SO is picky, pretty much eats the basics, no seafood though. Oh yeah, he is frugal too. Now, having said that I can get him to spend more as long as the food is delicious and not too pompous. Me? Count me in for cheap to expensive and any food group out there.
Thanks so much for your input.
Cheese Sticks/Straws/Puffs and the Like
Thanks for the link, I made them last night. Oh my! Incredibly tasty!
Cheese Sticks/Straws/Puffs and the Like
If you don't feel like making them, you can order these Gougeres from Artisnal Cheese online:
http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod50980004&parentId=cat16131003&masterId=cat16130978&index=5&cmCat=cat000000cat000553cat17640731cat16130743cat16130978cat16131003
I ordered them last Christmas from Williams Sonoma, they were also available at Sur la Table and Neimans. They arrive in trays, a dozen per tray. They keep well in the freezer.
I ordered the bacon and cheddar and they were so good!
