Champions league at San Diego

The best place to go is Phileas Fogg in Poway. They always open early for games...any day of the week. The place bleeds futbol. They have about 20 beers on tap and at least 100 different beers in bottle. Great food also.

Indonesian food in San Diego

I've been to Bali Thai and I loved it. I had the "Yellow Curry w/chicken"...they put a good amount of chicken in it so you don't have to dig around for it. My friend had the "Beef Rendang". I didn't taste it but he seemed to really like it. We also shared the "Pineapple Curry Fried Rice". All was good. I'll definatetly go back.

GUINNESS GRAVY

Yea I thought of that also. I will just make 2 batches or buy one premade Whole Foods for them.

Salt vs. black pepper - is it just me?

Sounds good...we have a great Asian foods market here in San Diego, I will look for it. I just recently bought a mini grinder and been wanting to use it.

Strange Pairings that Taste Uncommonly Good

A few weeks ago I was late going into work on a Friday and there was one bagel left and no cream cheese...so as I was toasting the bagel I peeked into the Krispy Kreme box and noticed only one left. "Hmmmm?" I thought to myself " I can't just leave one donut there...so I grabbed it and stuck it inside the bagel and took my first bite and loved it. And yes I threw away the empty boxes....lol My coworker tried last week and liked it also.

Opening Day at Petco Park..Where to eat?

I also go to Tivoli's before games. I have to limit myself to only 2 drinks max because they free-pour their drinks nice and strong. Then I head over to Rockin' Baja..."I know I know" it's old school...but I still like them. I never crossed that bridge before...now I know how. Thanks for that tip.

Strange Pairings that Taste Uncommonly Good

I disregard that dang cheese and seafood "law". I go to a place here in San Diego that I believe have the best fish tacos in town...they put cheese on the bottom between the fish and tortilla and they melt together...MAN ARE THEY GOOD.

You have got to try this...a toasted sourdough bagel with a Krispy Kreme donut inside. It is sooo goood.

Salt vs. black pepper - is it just me?

I am a black pepper freak. I just plain love it. For me I put on anything light in color such as clam chowder or corn or white gravy..etc. Pepper and garlic are my two fav. flavor inhancers.

rotisserie chicken?

I love rotisserie chickens at the grocery store...there are so many things that can be done with it. When i get it home the first thing i do is shred it up and eat the skin HEHE and then i decide what I want to do with it. What is your fav. thing to do with it?

GUINNESS GRAVY

Is it ok to serve Guinness gravy to kids? I am going to make some soon and was wondering if it is safe to do so. Also what about anything else cooked with beer...such as beer battered(anything)?

NYer Seeking Perfect Fish Taco in Carlsbad Area - Will Drive (my family crazy talking about this)

Drive down the 101 until you get to Solana Beach. There you will find the Tidewater Tavern...I love their fish tacos. I've brought friends in there and they love them as well. It is a place where families are welcomed. there is a bar side and a restaurant side to it.

Fried chicken wings Undercooked-- Was Electric Fryer the culprit?

Go easy on the mustard at first...it tends to take over.

Fried chicken wings Undercooked-- Was Electric Fryer the culprit?

I have a Fry Daddy...I normally put it on high....I fry about 5 wings at a time 5 mins. and after frying all the wings I put in bowl with "my" sauce on and then bake for 10 mins. in 350* oven. I know it is using double the energy but I like how the skin is crispy and the insides are perfect. And FYI...I prefer the wing part over the drumette.

My sauce....RedHot Hot sauce, mustard and honey....sometimes i change it up but most times it those 3 items.

Mexican Food

My personal favorite fish tacos are at The Tidewater Tavern in Soloan Beach.

Filet of fish grilled over open flame stuffed in a flour tortilla with cabbage, cheese, special sauce & salsa.

San Diego CLOSED Restaurants - Replacement for old board.

Between Encinitas and Leucadia....there must be at least more taco shops than Tijuana. I like them all.

Are there any restaurant or fast food chains you desire for San Diego?

I like the Philippines' 7-11 version. They sell all-kinds of different hand-held foods inside...even lots of varieties is siopao. Oh yeah! they even sell booze ib them.

I like to see a Cattleman"s here.

Classic dive bars and Tiki Bars in San Diego/Oceanside

If you ever get invited to a VFW bar/lounge, GO. I've been to a few around the county and loved each one. Most of them do not measure when making drinks....FREE-POUR, baby. And the stories some the old guys share are funny and outrages. And, if you are lucky enough to go when the are having an event/potluck, they will invite you to eat also.

Early dinner in Sorrento Valley/Mira Mesa

I've actually been wanting to try Spices but haven't just yet. It seems everytime I am on that side of the parking lot I am inside Habaneros....which is usually on Saturday, late in the morning, to get their "chilequiles" with red sauce. Great hangover food.

Early dinner in Sorrento Valley/Mira Mesa

You could head east on Mira Mesa Blvd. about 2 miles to the BevMo/Fresh&Easy shopping center. There is a really nice Food Court there. The restaraunt in particular is Amarin Thai Restaraunt...It is tucked inside a food court next to a couple other Asian restaraunts, one Indian Tanduri and the other Filipino fast-food style restaraunt among a few others. I have never been disapointed there. And if it is busy you could order to go and just eat outside on the patio.

Have you ever "trained" yourself to eat something?

YUCK! I still can't do it. However if you cooked with a little olive oil and blended into a sauce I would eat it

Opening Day at Petco Park..Where to eat?

I often have fun at Tivoli's before the game. One time I had even more fun after a game and paid the price the next day. They free-pour their drinks. Their little snack bar isn't very good though. It is a fun "divish" bar. I also still like to go to Rockin' Baja...been going there for years.

For me, everytime I eat a Greek Gyro ( I love that meat) I get bad breath. The same goes for badly prepared carne asada. Which foods give you bad breath?

Best Hawaiian BBQ in San Diego

I like L&L in Mira Mesa. I know it is a chain and the more restaurants turn into chains the more they expand the less they think about thr food and they only think of the allmighty dollar...but I still like it there. lol
