GLUTEN FREE DINING

Hi-having recently been diagnosed as being gluten sensitive,I am in search of restaurants that have either gluten free items or a gluten free menu. The Newtown/ NE Philadelphia area would be perfect, although anywhere in the Philadelphia area would be acceptable as well.. And, do I have to give up my lifetime enjoyment of cheesesteaks, or is there a restaurant out there that offers gluten free cheesesteaks?

Thanks for your help-

Gluten Free Restaurants and, Supermarkets in the Baltimore Area

I appreciate all the great information and it's been put to good use. Recently tried Great Sage and Roots Market, MOM's and David's Markets, Outback Steakhouse , Carrabba's,PF Chaings and Lilit Cafe- all good places to go and the friendliest people to help you(as are the "mainstream" supermarkets).

Thanks again!

Gluten Free Restaurants and, Supermarkets in the Baltimore Area

Thanks for all your suggestions-we've already gone to some of the recommended places and learned quite a bit.

2 more questions- I can't get a definitive answer for yogurt. Different sources give different answers.

Finally, any restaurant suggestions?

Thanks again-

seeking new restaurants in Bucks County area

Don't know if it's new to you-in fact, not even sure if it's officially in Bucks County-but Mama D's on 611 North beyond Doylestown has been a favorite of ours for the past 2 years or so. Everything is homemade and delicious, the prices are inexpensive , the place is cozy and the people are extremely friendly. They own a near by winery and sell bottles of their wine at the restaurant.

BIG GREEN EGG

Thanks so much for all your great advice and comments. It's seems hard to get information from the ompany itself, but you guys really filled in the gaps.

Any suggestions which model to get for use with hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, fish and steak for mostly 2 people throughout the year, up to 10 or so for the occasional barbeque?

Thanks again-

BIG GREEN EGG

Has anyone had any experience with the Big Egg Grill? How does it compare to the Weber products in the same relative price range? How easy is it, how versatile and how does the food taste?

Thanks for your help-

What Grill To Purchase?

Thanks for all your help-I'll probably wait until Father's Day-I'm told there are good sales around then-so any other thoughts are more than welcome.

What Grill To Purchase?

It's barbeque season, and we're in the market for our 1st grill. Any recomendations? We've heard great things about the Weber grills, but we're not sure which model. We would like to spend under $500 and we'll use it mostly for the standards-hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, steak and some fish. We probably won't have over more than 12 people at any one time-it will be mostly used for 2-6 people.

Thanks for your help-

Anniversary Restaurants

I know it's a topic that has been discussed often, but I always like to see where people have gone recently. Ours is coming up, and I'm looking for some ideas. Price, location and type of food are no object, but we love places out in the country, hopefully a convereted home or mansion. A quiet corner table would also be great.

In the past, we've gone toThe Milton Inn, Elkridge Furnace Inn, Antrim 1844, Manor Tavern and enjoyed them all. Are there other similar restaurants out there?

Also, my parents' anniversary is coming up- although both in their 80s, it's their 1st in Baltimore. They do have mobility issues (both use walkers) and probably would like the total bill to be under $100. But they also like old, rustic places where parking is no problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks-

PASSOVER IN BALTIMORE AREA

Thanks-I appreciate the tip. I've been to Surburban a lot over the years and thought that they might be a place to go. Snyders on Reisterstown Rd used to have Passover meals but they went out of business several months ago, but the owner now owns a place in Towson(I forget the name) that might also be a candidate.

I'm assuming the Kosher places might be closed for the holiday because of the difficulty of making things Kosher for Passover.

Anybody else have any ideas?

Birthday Dinner In Newtown Area

My wife is celebrating her 50th birthday and we'd like to find a nice restaurant in the Newtown, Yardley, New Hope area, although NE Phiadelphia and the Warminster/Willow Grove area would be fine. Money or cuisine are not big issues, although we do love places that are converted mansions or homes.

Thanks for your help-

Surprise 50th In Baltimore Area

Thanks for the replies.

I just have a caterer in case I found a private hall that I like-I used a clubhouse at a golf course previously that was great.

I'd probably like to spend around $15-20 per person as I'm looking more towards bar-type food than formal entrees.

Thanks again for your responses and for any subsequent help-

Surprise 50th In Baltimore Area

Any ideas for a surprise 50th birthday party for my wife? I'm looking for a nice restaurant-hopefully with a private room- that would be good for around 30 people, some over 80 with mobility issues. We have a caterer if that makes a difference.

Thanks-
