Romantic Meal for New Parents?

Ha! That's about right.

Romantic Meal for New Parents?

I noticed this one while doing a Yelp search -- thanks for the advice!

Romantic Meal for New Parents?

Hi everyone, I don't live in the Boston area, but two good friends of mine are celebrating the birth of their new baby boy, and I'd like to treat the two of them to a relaxing and lovely meal whenever they get the free time.

Any suggestions for places around Boston that accept gift certificates or gift cards? They live in Watertown, so closer to that area is better...thank you for any advice you have!

Tarte Tatin in West Hollywood?

Does anyone know of a place where I can get a slice of Tarte Tatin in this general area? (It's dad's favorite...)

I called Sweet Lady Jane, Pain Quotidien, Michel Richard, Little Next Door, Joan's...nobody has it (some can make it to order, but only a larger size...)

Thanks!

Birthday Delivery in SF?

wow, they look great! i called but they are too booked to do it this week...(i'm trying to do something last minute)...

thank you so much though!

Birthday Delivery in SF?

Hey everyone,

I'm an LA chow-er, and I want to send a friend something cool for her birthday...I read about this fresh cookie delivery service in Berkeley, but I don't think they do SF yet. Does anyone know of something similar? I'm looking to get her something unusual, fun, etc...and we love food!

Thanks for your help in advance!

Best Hot Fudge Sundae On The West Side?

I'll have to third this rec! When I saw this post, CPK was the place I thought of immediately...it's the best one, in my opinion, though I'm embarrassed to give a plug for such a corporate establishment. They use Haagen Dazs vanilla, plus an excellent hot fudge w/nuts and whipped cream...I love that it's not melted down a ton by the time they bring it to the table.

Cheap West Hollywood/Beverly Center/The Grove eats?

going okay...i'm getting creative, though.
on the top of my personal (vegetarian) list of places to try next are rahel ethiopian & vegan glory (though i'm wondering how healthy this one is)...it's one thing to find cheap & healthy, but adding "vegetarian" creates more of a challenge! but, all in all, i'm having fun trying some of these new places/approaches...

thx for your help! (this is a great list...)

Cheap West Hollywood/Beverly Center/The Grove eats?

I've seen Joom--thanks for the tip--it sounds great!

Cheap West Hollywood/Beverly Center/The Grove eats?

I just lost my job, and my husband & I are trying to come up with creative ways to save money when we eat out. For example, I've thought about getting lunch specials more often, then heating them up for dinner on occasion...also, we're trying to keep a running list of inexpensive, tasty food around town--I'm a health-conscious vegetarian, but he'll eat meat... Thanks for your help!

I Have Theater in Westwood / Where do We Eat?

check out this link for westwood village restaurants--
http://www.westwoodvillageonline.com/?c=r
i haven't been to some of these places in years, but for an elegant atmosphere with what i remember to be good food, try the gardens on glendon. or, i noticed they just opened up a pain quotidien, if you'd like more salad/little sandwich stuff ...personally, i drive 45 minutes out of my way for native foods, a fantastic restaurant (vegan)...have fun!

C&O in MDR?

this place sucks! i have no idea why people wait in line for a table here...kind of a touristy-feel.

Fun restaurant to go for 25th Birthday on a Saturday night

try fritto misto in manhattan beach. casual, fun italian, and you they can probably set up a room for you and serve food family style...

L.A. Foodies to the rescue!!!!!!!!

don't waste your time on holy cow. it's awful.

Great Salads

for a meatless salad, native foods in westwood is sooo tasty! very flavorful, unusual options--my favorite is the aztec salad, with chopped tomato, jicama, currants, avocado, pumpkin seeds and mango-lime dressing...

Looking for great Pad Thai

my favorite pad thai, though it's a bit of a trek, is in marina del rey. if you are willing to make the trip, there's a really charming place called siamese garden...it's easy to miss, on washington blvd. between the boardwalk and some huge monstrosity of a restaurant (baja cantina). anyway, check it out! GREAT pad thai (when my husband and i went to thailand, we compared it to this...), cozy, and ultra-friendly service. enjoy!

Bean & Cheese Burritos--Who has the BEST?

i too have developed an embarrassing addiction to bean and cheese burritos...
i go to baja fresh (i know, i know...there are better places i should try, but i can't help it), and i get it with pinto beans. however, the meal isn't complete without cholula hot sauce...that's the key!

POQUITO MAS--WHY THE CROWD??

btw, is there an eduardo's (or anything comparable) on the east-side? (grove/west hollywood area)?

POQUITO MAS--WHY THE CROWD??

another vote for baja bud's--excellent food, super reasonable, and so good...

Delicious & inexpensive sushi in LA?

there's a place on 3rd street, in a mini-mall just east of la cienega, called sushi mac, where rolls are $2.75 each. now, this is an ultra-casual (you sit at a rotating sushi bar, no tables, cash only, somewhat limited menu) place, but i like it. it's not supreme quality sushi, i'm sure, but it tastes good, is cheap, and for someone like me who likes to have sushi once in a while without spending a ton, it's great.

Best Breakfast in LA?

amandine is incredible--their omelettes are delicious, and you have to try their french toast with berries.

(of course, their pastries are lovely too, but since we're talking breakfast...)

La Cabanita - Glendale

they also have great vegetarian options...i always get their veggie enchaladas & vegetarian tacos--very filling, and much tastier than what you get at other places.

don't forget to try their horchata!

Best cobbler?

I have a craving!! Any suggestions? (Anything with berries in it & I'll be happy...)

Happy Hour/Romantic Date Spot

puran on la brea is a nice romantic option
or maybe chaya happy hour? (haven't been there in a while though)

Valentine's spot on Sunset

wow--amarone is a great find! thanks for these!

Valentine's spot on Sunset

I'm gonna be over near Crescent Heights on Sunset, and wondering where I should try---anything special over there?

quick bite and drinks near the beverly center tonight?

try chaya near robertson or the little next door (on 3rd--excellent!)

Mexican food in West Hollywood?

Any suggestions for casual, inexpensive, good Mexican food in the West Hollywood area? I love Baja Bud's (on the westside), and am looking for something closer to me...

Good Italian in West Hollywood area

Angelino on 3rd St. (between La Cienega & Robertson)--about $10 and $17 or so.
I think it's a gem--excellent food, cozy, unpretentious.

Cheap & Healthy LA?

great list--thank you!
