best place to get cooked and cleaned Dungeness crab in the east bay?
I have read through the dungeness crab posts and saw some brief mentions of prices at whole foods, berkeley bowl, monterey fish, raleys, and safeway... and also saw some mention to be careful of salty crab...
So who has the best tasting cooked crab of all the places in the east bay that offer crab cooked and cleaned...(I am not looking for the just crab meat...)
Also, once I pick up crab, how long do I have to eat it? I would like to eat it for New Year's Day but would probably have to pick it up the day before (or should i pick it up sooner because they might run out on new year's eve?)...Will it keep and taste good?
Looking for Berkeley and Oakland...
Thanks
vegan pumpkin pie - berkeley or oakland
It wasn't a raw foods pumpkin pie---I thought it was made by Upper Crust but their website doesn't include a vegan pumpkin pie. I am pretty sure that I bought the vegan pumpkin pie at a store but if it was all a dream, I am willing to go to a bakery (berkeley or oakland)...I will definitely try Nabalom to see if they are offering a vegan pumpkin pie...
vegan pumpkin pie - berkeley or oakland
I am trying to remember where I bought vegan pumpkin pie. I thought it was at Whole Foods (berkeley) but I can't seem to find it again. Was it all just a dream or was there really vegan pumpkin pie?
Any other spots for vegan pumpkin pie? (berkeley or oakland)...
Thanks
Tacolicious corporate lunch delivery - anyone tried it?
We are thinking about using Tacolicious' coporate lunch delivery service (not the hosted taco bar)? Has anyone tried it? And since we are located in Oakland, one of the main questions we have is--How well does it travel?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks

Saturday Lunch: Americano alternative?
Had plans on going to Americano for lunch on Saturday (around 12:45 - 1:00) but they aren't open for lunch on Saturday ...
Looking for something similar in atmosphere and quality but not necessarily in type of food and close to the Hotel Vitale for a group of 7...
Any help is greatly appreciated....
Gluten-free in the footnotes - mainly east bay
Not so much comparison tasting but that the man is non-gluten free ( a little unadventurous in his eating) and I am newly gluten free and it seems like it has been the hardest to find hamburgers and sandwiches that we both can eat (unless I want the hamburger wrapped in lettuce as the gluten free option)...
Thanks
Gluten-free in the footnotes - mainly east bay
I am hoping to find restaurants that offer items available in gluten-free or non-gluten-free (sandwiches and pastas are good examples) ..rather than dishes that are gluten free (I have been reading the gluten-free posts for those items)
Thanks.
Gluten-free in the footnotes - mainly east bay
I am looking for restaurants that offer gluten-free options, usually noted in the footnotes or with an * such as (but not limited to)
sandwiches (in the east bay) (Ike's place offers gluten free bread as a bread choice, american grill cheese has gluten free bread as an opton a bit more money)
hamburgers
hot dogs
soba noodles (100%buckwheat)
pasta (filippo's on college offers a rice gnocchi as a gluten free option)
naengmyeon
middle-eastern--any place that offers gluten free pita
I am hoping these are not just pipe dreams...
Thanks
Vegetarian or vegan Korean in the East Bay
Is the Sahn Maru veg menu a vegetarian menu or a vegetable menu (like the noodles section of a menu)? Also, do you have to request it?
Vegetarian or vegan Korean in the East Bay
Are there any vegetarian Korean places in the east bay? I know that most korean places have vegetarian options but often the banchan and sometimes soup stock is made with seafood items (bonito or oysters) so I was hoping that there might be a vegetarian only or extremely vegetarian friendly Korean place?? And a vegan option (with vegan sugar) would be fantastic!
I would love East Bay but willing to travel...
Thanks
Hot Carrots in the east bay (berkeley - oakland)
I am looking for a sit down mexican restaurant that offers hot carrots similar to those found at the taco trucks..(not the jalapenos and carrots where it is mostly jalapenos and a few carrots but hot carrots)...Hopefully in berkeley but willing to go to fruitvale/oakland...
thanks
Where to find unfiltered apple cider?
Voila Juice has a great spiced apple cider with 100% pressed apples...They can be found at Berkeley Bowl but they have an cafe/outlet for juice in Oakland

Cold Kimchi Soup
arrowroot is more similar to the buckwheat noodles than the somen noodles...
you might try asking for an entree size version of the cold noodle soup (although I found it to be too much of a good thing...)
Cold Kimchi Soup
Was it the noodles? The noodles are different: the naeng myun has the buckwheat noodles and the appetizer has the somen noodles--You might ask for the Yul Mul Naeng Myun with the somen noodles instead of the buckwheat noodles...(I've done it before ...) (it's like bibim gook su vs bibim naeng myun--it's all about the noodles.)
Cold Kimchi Soup
The Jong Ga house does offer something similar on their menu: I forget what it is called but it is the tangy kimchi broth of the appetizer with the Naeng Myun noodles...I think the name of the dish references young radish leaves?
Angeline's Crawfish Boil: how was it?
Angeline's Louisana Kitchen had their first annual crawfish boil on Sat July 28th. Did anyone go and if so, how was it? Should I put it on my list to look for in the future?
Thanks
