Boccalone’s Nduja
Thanks Melanie, reminds me of Chorizo de Teror, a spreadable sausage from the Grand Canaria that is absolutely fantastic in a sandwich.
Phuket in a Bucket: Best name for new menu item
I just got my Sellers Markets Newsletter this morning and their new "Phuket in a Bucket" new item cracked me up. They're salads are usually pretty good, although I haven't tried this one yet.
Sopapilla's in the Bay Area?
Thanks everyone for the advice. I think it begs the larger question: are there any authentic and good New Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area? Sorry if this is splitting the thread, but it's certainly hand-in-hand with the original question.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far!

Sopapilla's in the Bay Area?
Hi all,
I'm homesick for sopapillas and don't know of any place in the bay area that serves 'em up. Preferably with some honey :)
Any help appreciated!

Cesar's on Piedmont
I'm a huge fan of Caesar on Piedmont. Two years ago while living in Spain I began to detest tapas. But at Caesar they're like nothing I've ever come across in Spain. They were elegant, prepared well, imaginative and the quality of ingredients showed.
My only issue with the new location is that they made the bar too damn big! Space better used for more tables.
Piedmont ave. is on the upswing for sure. Now with Gregoire, Caesar, Doppo, Jojo, Baywolf, Xyclo. Will someone open a damn bakery already!!?? Betty, Acme, La Farine, Bread Garden, Arizmendi, something!! :)
Weird Fish?
We went last night and were pleasantly surprised. It's a tiny place, very casual and hip, but not edgy. Everyone in there seemed to be in their late 20's. The menu catered towards the 'lacto-ovo-pesca-vegetarian' side of things (dairy, egg, fish but no fowl or red meat).
I had the fish and chips, they were a beer battered talapia filet served with fries. It was nice, not overly greasy or crispy. They were served in a basket with one layer of newspaper topped by a sheet of butcher paper. The fries were a thick-cut mixture of potatoes and yams as stated above, but with nice larger bits of salt.
The iced tea was wonderfully dark and flavorful. I also tasted both the fish and veggi versions of the fish tacos. Fantastic.
My only complaint was the size of the joint, which is typical SF cozy small tables squished together.
They're off to a great start, and considering that I spent 10 years as a fish/dairy/egg eating 'vegetarian,' same with at least a dozen other friends, this place has many levels of appeal. Even my friend Elise, who is allergic to Gluten, found a a full meal without trouble (rice flower used).
Dinner for 3 (no alcohol) came out to just under $40.
Caution: there is no waiting room and you might have to hang out in front on a more colorful block of Mission. For a tues. night they were full.

beard papa - RWC - finally open
Forgive me but what is RWC?
And there's no forgiveness for Beard Papa, they have destroyed my will power.
Blah Blah Blah Take Out At Gregoire Piedmont
I'd give it another shot for dinner. Honestly they don't quite put the same imagination into the lunch dishes.
However, for lunch recently I had the Scallop & crab meat patty with garlic-lemon sauce on pantofolina. $7.25. Fantastic, but somewhat small. Fair price considering the quality.
Gregoire is my local crack dealer :)
Too much paper
Hi Cabond. We're listening and agree that, if possible, printouts should remain on one page. Keep an eye out for an updated print function soon. - Sasha from CHOW
