Pure Fun's Organic Root Beer Candy

I’ve always loved candy root beer barrels, except for the artificial flavors and junk in them. Luckily, a recent package of candy samples from Pure Fun delivered a nice all-natural version. The company’s candy line (which also includes candy canes, fruit- and citrus-flavored hard suckers, and lollipops) is made in the United States and Canada with “NO Gluten, NO GMO’S, NO FD&C Colors, NO Casein, NO Dairy, NO artificial flavors, NO dyes, NO Synthetics, NO Pesticides, NO preservatives.” The candies are sweetened with organic evaporated cane juice and brown rice syrup, and the flavors are mostly classic—though, for me, the goji berry lollipop dips a toe into the hippie pool. The barrels are agreeably sugary, with a pleasant balance of vanilla and root beer flavors.
