Your New Favorite Coffee Cup
It ain’t called the Ultimate Coffee Cup for nothing. Ceramic artist David Pier (full disclosure: He’s a friend of a mine) has created a curvilinear mug that looks like a cross between a Bauhaus-era piece and something from the future. It feels good in your hand and is a nice, meaty size, perfect for drinking coffee from. It comes with a saucer, which doubles as a lid to keep hot liquids hot. And when not in use, you can stack the Ultimate Coffee Cups and saucers onto one another to create a kind of Alice in Wonderland–esque tower. See the cup in action below as CHOW Food Editor Aïda Mollenkamp uses it as a cappuccino vessel in this tip describing how to froth milk at home.
