Tourist traps - SF Fisherman’s Wharf Restaurants
By rworange
San Francisco Bay Area
Good food is to these joints as street mimes are to great actors. The food isn't all terrible, but it's not very good, either. Overpriced, indifferently prepared, and served by wait staff who know that every customer is a tourist and act accordingly.

1.
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co
39 Pier # 211, San Francisco, CA
Stupid is as stupid does. Eating at a mediocre chain in one of the greatest food cities in America … well.
-
2.
Fog Harbor Fish House
202 San Pier 39 #A, Francisco, CA 94133
The menu has the option of adding pasta to the cioppino … so wrong, so wrong. Have not read one positive review on the web about the ‘award-winning’ clam chowder … where’s the clams? Skip it. Simco, the owners, started the Chevy’s chain.

3.
Forbes Island
41 Pier, San Francisco, CA 94133
If your idea of a good time is boarding a small boat to get to a man-made island a few feet away, eat underwater (in the evening so it is dark), and pay through the snorkel for forgettable food, then this is your place.

4.
Joe's Crab Shack
245 Jefferson St, San Francisco, CA 94133
This chain makes me crabby and not in a good way
-
5.
Lori's Diner
900 N Point St, San Francisco, CA 94109
A local chain that is at best average.
-
6.
Neptune's Palace Seafood
Pier 39, San Francisco, CA 94133
The god of the sea needs a few prayers food-wise
-
7.
Rainforest Cafe - rworange duplicate of #33321
145 Jefferson St # 400,San Francisco,CA
Really … really? One rain forest not worth saving. Yes, very kid-friendly but there’s a lot kid-friendly on the Wharf that is actually good.

8.
Swiss Louis Italian & Seafood
39 Pier # 204, San Francisco, CA
I came out of here once and told the tourist looking at the menu to look elsewhere.

9.
Tin Fish Eagle Cafe
201 Pier 39, San Francisco, CA 94133
The eagle has landed … and died. Sadly one of the best options in Fisherman’s Wharf was sold and is no longer recommended
