Spain/Portugal

Barcelona Quimet y Quimet: small but worth the wait for a spot at the bar - order whatever is being eaten around you. everything was fresh and full of flavor, all for a reasonable price. favorite restaurant of spain. Bar Lobo: although a chain, and slightly expensive - the food was fantastic and we left feeling euphoric. the penne pasta with mint was delicious and perfect for a vegetarian in a meat-centric country. Paco Meralgo: delicious meal, the pan con tomate was the best we'd had in all of spain. the wait staff is fun and very helpful. Pinotxo in the Boqueria: the most AMAZING small clams i've ever tasted in my entire life - cooked with egg and bursting with flavor. the beef stew was also a lucky treat - as the run out of dishes quickly - the meat was perfectly tender and tasty. Dry Martini: wonderfully delicious cocktails, although pricey - worth it. the plate of olives we had with our martini's were buttery and so addicitive. La Xina: although also a chain, they offer many vegetarian friendly options and every dish we had, Veg and not Veg, was delicious. The soup is poured at the table and the dim sum is made with the freshest of ingredients. also important - the drinks are out of this world - they use all fresh ingredients and are carefully mixed - the Kumquat Capiroska was my favorite.
