Fish sauce
Fish sauce is a pungent-smelling, salty, thin, clear brown liquid made from fermented fish and is important to the cuisines of Southeast Asia. Used like salt in western cooking
and soy sauce in Chinese cooking, it is directly related to the garum fish sauce made in classical times by the Romans. Many brands of fish sauce can be found in Asian markets.
