First Baseman Forsakes Flesh

Thanks to the all-things-vegan blog Vegan Bits we’ve learned that another pro athlete has gone vegetarian. Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder was apparently inspired by—oh noes!—the book that has caused a terrible rift in the political vegan world, Skinny Bitch, to drop meat from his diet.

Not exactly fresh news in Milwaukee, will the 6-foot, 260-pound Fielder’s new diet cause other athletes to take up the ethical eating cause? Will vegetarianism give last year’s Brewers MVP the edge? According to Fielder, “Since I started, I feel amazing. When I wake up, I’m up. I’m not lying around anymore.”

So does this make him more healthy or just morally superior than the rest of us flesh eaters?

way more healthy and morally superior! go veg! support compassion 3x a day!

The big story will be when we see a professional athlete that was actually RAISED Vegan. Granted, I am not holding my breath.

mmmmm, cheeseburgers. When he starts having those dreams lets see how long that lasts.

Morally superior? Get over yourselves. If you dont want to eat meat thats fine, but dont make yourself what you are not.

What do you think?
