Super Soups

National Soup Month doesn’t come around until January, but it’s already prime time for soup blogging. Food stylist Tami Hardeman is the woman behind food blog Running with Tweezers, which usually showcases luscious photos of her own kitchen creations, like Easy Pea Soup, adapted from Nigella Lawson’s How to Eat: The Pleasures and Principles of Good Food.

But recently, she announced the winners of her Super Soup Challenge, a contest for bloggers to submit their favorite soup recipes—along with photos of their submissions. Recipes ranged from a hot-and-hearty Smoked Corn Soup to a creamy, chilled Watercress Vichyssoise.

Warming orange soups made of sweet potatoes, squash, and pumpkin are clearly in season on the blogging front, but if you’re wary of recipes from novice cooks, check out the Sweet Potato and Sausage Soup from the October issue of Bon Appétit—which is getting rave reviews.
