Fry It Up in a Pan
Grub Street, New York Magazine’s food blog, declared last week that “Bacon Has Jumped the Shark.” (Not to be confused with shark bacon.)
Obviously, it hadn’t seen the blog Healthbolt’s rundown of crazy bacon products. Healthbolter Sara writes, “It’s one thing to see bacon being slapped on a burger. But do we need to add bacon to candy, water, even bubbles? Yes, we absolutely do!”
Indeed, bacon-scented bubbles for tormenting your pup are available now. As is bacon cotton candy, which, according to a columnist at Tennessee’s Knoxville News Sentinel, is more amazing than you’d think:
[B]efore you wrinkle your nose in disgust, let me tell you, it was one of the most incredible creations I have ever tasted. I don’t know the chemistry behind [chef Sean] Brock’s magic of rendering bacon into the flavorful fairy dust, but it worked.
