Recipes, Recipes, Ever More Recipes
Media giant Time Inc. is going foodie: Its new web portal, MyRecipes, provides a database of recipes from magazines such as Cooking Light, Southern Living, Sunset, and Coastal Living. Searches may also turn up results from Allrecipes, the Food Network, and Epicurious.
The site itself, currently in beta, doesn’t seem to be anything to write home about. In addition to recipes there are sections on menu planning, entertaining, even healthy cooking. There are also how-to videos, though if this video on how to whip egg whites is any indication, there’s a tendency toward bland and—dare I say—boring.
Though the search capabilities may be worth an occasional visit, I don’t think this is one that’s going to make it onto my bookmark list.
