The Cupcake Courier
Not only don’t I bake, but I absolutely don’t spend time thinking about how I would effectively transfer said baked goods, were they to be miraculously made by me and considered suitable for human consumption. HOWEVER …
Catching up on Rachael Ray’s talk show (the initial sickness is quickly spreading out of control), I saw something that actually sent me thumbing through my dusty baking cookbooks looking for cupcake recipes.
On the Rachael Ray show in question, Jenna Fischer—the actress behind cute and complicated Pam Beasely on the insanely hysterical television show The Office—was Rachael’s honored guest, and she presented La Ray with the Cupcake Courier! Go ahead, click through. I’ll wait.
Invented by Fischer’s friend Jennifer Gunn (mother of two and apparent cupcake machine), this ingenious device allows you to safely transport not one, not two, but THREE DOZEN CUPCAKES! Cute, but what I want is a decent two-pie carrier! I have a cute picnic basket that does in a pinch, but it's only really big enough for 1 3/4 pies, meaning one pie's always tilted on a slant to fit. Anyone know of a bi-level basket with a good carrying handle, so I can spread the pie queen love?
the only thing that is annoying about this is the size and that it can't break down and collapse to store and hide away. it's like the size of a small pet carrier.
If anyone makes cupcakes in large quantities often enough to make owning that thing worthwhile, they are not a normal human being. They are a caterer.
Pretty, but the deep cups look too deep, like you'd mush the sides of the cupcakes prying them out.

I think this is a great idea. If you've got kids, you've faced the challenge of transporting treats to school for the entire class. Crate and Barrel carries a similar item that seems more practical to me. It's bakeware with a lid:
