Crazy-Easy Christmas Cookies

December calendars are packed with parties and travel, so it can be hard to bake one batch of cookies, let alone the requisite assortment for a cookie plate. CHOW to the rescue! We developed five cookie recipes (and two candy recipes) that had to fit three criteria: supereasy, delicious, and beautiful. No rolling out dough, no icing required, no candy thermometers, no multiple steps. Internally, we referred to this as our "slacker cookie plate." But anybody who eats these will think you're a winner. Click each cookie to go to its recipe.

  • @Merrily: I tried it, and it works really well!

I forgot to mention that you need to smoosh them down with a fork on the cookie sheet, otherwise they won't cook very well.

  • if you added some chocolate chips to that delicious sounding cookie recipe, you would have a Reese's!!! Maybe try a tiny bit with chocolate chips and less sugar. It sounds a winner for experimenting.

  • I often make my insanely easy peanut-butter cookies at Christmas to raves.
All you need for 1 dozen cookies is a cup of peanut butter, a cup of sugar, and one egg.
Mix, dollop on cookie sheet, bake.
Moist, tasty, and way better than you'd ever expect.

  • Yay can't wait to gift some of these!

  • cute visual. nice!
