Waffle Chix is a brand-new, nice-lookin' place by UCLA, the kind of place with bars and some flat screens. The best deal there, says nosh, is the chicken waffle sandwich—bacon, lettuce, tomato, a fried chicken patty, and some tomato jam between two waffles. It's cut into fourths like a club sandwich and served with waffle fries that are well-flavored, but not perfectly crisp, which may or may not be intentional.
Then there's Bru's Wiffle. Along with the usual breakfast and dessert waffle options, "it expands the chicken and waffle concept to include concoctions like chili and waffles, meatballs and waffles, etc," says Ogawak. Eggs Benedict waffles were actually very good, though the waffles again were not perfectly crisp.
