Great Bread in Plymouth

Now here's a solid bread recommendation: The father of GretchenS baked his own bread for 45 years, until he tasted Hearth Wood Fired's French country bread and promptly quit baking in favor of buying. Unfortunately, soon thereafter, Gretchen's dad's source dried up, leading the family to investigate other stores that carried the brand.

Russo's in Watertown gets daily deliveries. Or bread-lovers can make their way to Hearth Wood Fired's Plymouth location, where Gretchen happily discovered several new varieties: rosemary, raisin pumpernickel, Baker's Harvest ("multigrained and seeded and FABULOUS"), and "a sort of ciabatta but better."

peelmeagrape chimes in that the fruit-nut loaf is "tasty with substantial heft and a generous proportion of the add-ins."
