New Finds: Candy-Colored Colanders

Preserve’s candy-colored colanders are made from 100 percent recycled plastic and are pleasingly inexpensive. Great for a starter kitchen rather than the boring ones from Ikea; and they won’t heat up and burn the bejesus out of your fingers like metal colanders.

  • Lee Valley tools and many bigger grocery stores have an over the sink colander and sure it is around $20 or so but will last years and years.
    I've had mine 6+ years and it will not melt like plastic.

    Great for rinsing off that big salad,vegetables...anything and you can put it in the dish washer.
    Also a big size and not heavy either...

  • However, the Ikea colanders have the advantage of having a handle, which is nice when handling hot food.
