The recipes for your best muffin are in. Coming up with an original muffin recipe is a difficult task, but the Chowhounds did not disappoint. Thanks to all who participated. Though the jury is still out on what, exactly, is the difference between a muffin and a cupcake (the frosting?), you can make the final call among these three finalists.
It's now up to you to decide which is the muffiniest of these three muffins. You have all week to vote, until 11:59 a.m. EST on Monday, May 23. Email your vote to firstname.lastname@example.org. The winner will be announced next week.
And the three finalists are:
feyness's Earl Grey and Honey Muffins
We liked that these muffins required no electric mixer and baked in an unbelievable 10 minutes. The infusion of the tea flavor was unique, and one taster said the muffins would go great with honey or butter, or honey-butter!
greygarious's Healthy Hummingbird Muffins
No one can complain that these muffins are dry or boring! Stuffed full of coconut, pineapple, and banana, and with a crunch from pecans, they are what we consider a robust and hearty breakfast muffin.
loghia's Meyer Lemon/Blueberry Muffins
There's nowhere to hide flaws in a basic blueberry muffin; this one was flawless. A few uncomplicated ingredients, a hefty serving of berries, a burst of lemon zest, and a crunchy sugar topping combine for a simple, solid blueberry muffin recipe.
Good luck to the finalists! Don't forget to email your vote to email@example.com!
