CHOW.com Copy Chief Deborah Lewis tested two member recipes, Microwave Brownie in a Mug (single serving) and Microwave Chocolate Mug Brownie. She liked the former, as you'll see here.

  • I love cooking so much! As I take a little time to visit Gourmandia sites, I feel so glad because I discover a wide variety of recipes! This site has knowledgeable information about cooking recipes and cooking skills!

  • Just tried it, it's awesome!

  • This looks like a good idea. Can anyone tell me--must the brownie be mixed in a "Central Perk" style cup, or would a more-conventional mug work as well?

  • This also works with box mix brownies and muffins. I cook almost everything in the microwave, bachelor style!!

  • This was a killer little recipe that I'm filing away for future reference. I just made it and 60 seconds in the microwave was completely done. I may even drop it to 45 and see what I get next time. • Now that's a good idea! Thanks

  • Interesting indeed!

  • Not for the discerning palate

  • OR you could just get a box of Duncan Hines Brownie mix, put some in a cup, put some milk in it, stir, and microwave that sh*t. It is AMAZING. I call it "fake cake."

  • a real hit with coolwhip on top, and mandarin oranges, strawberries or raspberries.

  • I halved this recipe and put it in for 35 seconds - still very satisfying! It comes in just under 250 calories that way and still satisfies the rich chocolate cake craving.

  • Hi fancynancy7, it's all-purpose flour. Here's a link to the recipe:

    Best,

  • Is the flour all purpose or self-rising? No rising used in this recipe.

  • I'm soooooo gonna try this.

  • LGil500 -- Where can I find your chocolate cake-in-a-mug recipe... or are you referring to this video?

    Thanks.

  • Pause n write!

  • Hi LGil500, the recipe Deborah's talking about is here: http://www.chow.com/recipes/26020-microwave-brownie-in-a-mug-single-serving

  • the video goes through very quickly. without stopping it after each ingredient to make a note of them, are there written recipes to c/p? I have the chocolate "cake" in a mug that I have tried and it's pretty good. it's fun to watch it rise up out of the cup. thanks, Linda
