  • My mom bought me something a little different. I didn't go to college until i was a newly wed. Well, I'm a biology major and really worried about the environment, and my husband was more worried about how dark it was around our little rented house. So, when I graduated with my associates, my mom got us solar powered house numbers, how crazy and great is that? I love them!

  • Perfect! I am looking for a gift for my mechanical engineering friend, and I had NO idea what to get him. This gives me a great jumping off point. I was thinking about getting him an mp3 alarm clock, or something equally cool, but I also really like the coffee cup warmer. Maybe I'll just get him both!

  • Even though I was an exercise science major, I think the lunch pails are a great idea! My husband is going into elementary education, so I'm sure he'd love to bring some of those to his student-teaching classes. Probably one of the gifts that I always wanted in college was some tailgate bbq grills. It's a great way to party and have fun right before a game.

  • I love the poet plates! They are so creative and hilarious. I was an English major in college, so of course those are my favorite thing you have listed here. One of the best gifts I got while going to college was an mp3 alarm clock, it helped me get up for my 8 AM classes with a spring in my step. I would definitely recommend that to any student.

  • Aww-I was surely looking forward to gifts for psych majors :-(

  • Well, DS is moving into his computer ( something or other specialty ) Masters . . . really. What oh what can I possibly get him that I even understand or can afford.

  • What about Bio Majors?? :D

  • I actually bought my engineer father a little coffee cup hotplate years and years ago and he used it every day while poring over schematics.

  • Amen, HJSoulma. I'm a 40-year-old with 3 lit degrees, all specializing in poetry. And I'm broke-ASS. Also, I don't care much for tea.

  • $2.99 for a pack of ramen?! No way!

  • I like the assumption that journalism majors are screwed when English majors aren't. XD

However, I take (joking) offense to the idea that an English major won't recognize poets in a couple of years-- not all English majors only did it because they had already fulfilled most of the requirements with other classes. Some of them want to teach, which means they'll remember the poets but need to...+READ
