Long a staple favorite of old school NYC Caribbean and Indian restaurants, roti (an Indian flatbread made with whole wheat flour) wrapped around a curry filling is catching on elsewhere. Spotted at the street food spinoff of NY’s upscale Tabla; with free range turkey at San Francisco’s Kasa Indian Eatery; and fusion style with hummus, at Chicago’s Roti Mediterranean Grill.

There's also the Bajan style roti - similar in that it's a flatbread, but made with chickpea flour. They're the stuff dreams are made of.
And they come filled to the brim with a variety of curries too.
here's a thread i started on indian and sri lankan flatbreads.

ps, for a faux-roti, the trader joe's whole grain tortilla is pretty darn good.
In Ottawa,Canada we have had some s imilar sandwiches and wraps for the past few years.
I highly reccomend Basmati Indian restaurant as they have a Tikka Chicken wrap and also a vegetarian one.

The wraps are huge and could easily feed 2 people or 1 very hungry person-the wraps are not flimsy either and I'm guessing (never measured) that they are 12" and weigh over 1 pound easily.
But the quality is great, they only use chicken breast in the sandwiches and the vegetarian sandwich has onion bhaji or veg kebab (reading the takeout menu here).
They also deliver and are at Bank and Somerset st.

-they also have a Tikka pizza, but have not tried that yet. Sounds good though!

For something similar I also have to reccomend Super Duper pizza.
They have a Super Wrap in which they use fresh pizza dough for the wrap part and it is filled with different meats, vegetables ect.
So far tried the ceasar chicken wrap and the vegetable one and both were good. Very filling.
The wrap bread was very fresh as I'm pretty sure they make it when you order. The chicken is also very good quality real chicken breast.
I only had the small size wrap and it was too big to finish, enough for 2 people or 1 hungry person I'd say.
I also have to reccomend the fried chicken from this place. Not greassy-the takeout menu says "deliciously seasoned chicken, pressure fried in 100% pure vegetable oil".
It is kind of like kfc...but not really as the chicken is much better quality.
