OK, kids: It’s art appreciation time!
Czech artist Jan Švankmajer is best known for surreal feature films like 1988’s Alice and 2000’s Little Otik, and his work has influenced famous directors including Terry Gilliam and Tim Burton. But before Švankmajer made features, he made a whole bunch of very strange stop-motion short films, many featuring food, and creepy yet amusing scenarios. This one is called Meat Love.
You like that? Then go watch the thirsty veggie woman rot in another prominent Švankmajer work, Flora.
Yay for a Svankmajer plug! Actually many of his films involve food brilliantly in some way (if not always an appetizing way). Little Otik's about a man-eating tree. In Conspirators of Pleasure there's someone with a strange obsession with bread balls.
