If you’re gonna be in Las Vegas the weekend of March 14 and you want to run with the big dogs, check out the Great Pit Ball. This charity event for pit bulls was cocreated by pastry chef Ralph Perazzo, and the cause is certainly close to my heart as a pit bull owner. It benefits an organization I volunteered with several years ago, Villalobos Rescue Center in Southern California, and will feature an art show, a celebrity poker tournament, a concert, and a documentary movie premiere.
But what about the food? According to the press release, “some of the top Las Vegas chefs [will] create a special ‘Chefs Dinner,’ offering a taste of some the city’s best restaurants.” Chefs include sustainable seafood advocate Rick Moonen from RM Seafood (at Mandalay Bay) and Joseph Elevado from Social House, among other luminaries. The dinner is $50 a head and will feature desserts by Perazzo.
Good eats for a good cause—you can’t do better than that in my opinion, even in Sin City.
