Chowhounds are revealing the best stuff to get a Costco, and some things to avoid. Good: Kirkland meatballs, French feta, king crab, Bolthouse Farms carrot juice, Sabra hummus. Bad: teriyaki chicken meatballs, marinated Alaskan salmon prepackaged in individual servings, sushi (too gummy!), chile verde (too salty!).
Chowhound Eugene Park writes: “Not sure if this is available in all Costcos, but I’ve bought black truffle butter from the San Francisco & Foster City locations. Best $8.99 I’ve spent in some time. Makes even plain Jane french bread taste amazing, esp. if the bread’s been sliced thin and toasted.”

Oh I am sure I will, thanks for the tip. I plan on picking it up tomorrow, I will be sure to tell you what I think!
Oh wow! No I haven’t, but if it’s the same brand I am sure its amazing! I have to try that! The Bread Pudding with Salted Caramel Sauce is located in the refrigerated section; it comes in a tray type of dish. The flavor combination of the sweat soft bread pudding drenched with the salted caramel topping is totally new and different. I thought the salty taste in the caramel might put me off, but...+READ

Have you tried the Stuffed French Toast stuffed with Cream Cheese, Cranberries, and Apricots? I am almost positive that it’s made by the same brand. It’s really yummy, and totally not what I expected! I was thinking it would be too much but it is just the perfect amount of everything for...+READ

Thank the Lord I did, it was amazing! I brought it over to a dinner party and there was not one morsel left! Thank the Lord I did, it was amazing! I brought it over to a dinner party and there was not one morsel left! People thought I had baked it and begged me for the recipe… Unfortunately I had to come clean and tell them I purchased it at Costco. The brand that makes this miracle Bread Pudding with Salted Caramel Sauce is Home Chef Kitchen (Signature Recipe). I would totally recommend all of you pick it up! It’s really a special product! I have to go to two different thanksgiving dinners this year, and am planning on bringing the Bread Pudding to both events! Ha ha ha…-COLLAPSE
