Sebastian Bergne’s Designer Corkscrew

Better Living Through Design, one of my favorite design blogs, features beautiful food gadgets from time to time, and this Sebastian Bergne–designed corkscrew is definitely that. I love how it keeps track of how many corks you’ve popped over the course of the evening (up to three), and how its look changes as you add new corks. As you drink more (and get more drunk), it looks like it’ll also protect your hand from the sharp, screwish points.

  • It's cute, but once I get those first two corks on there I think the only reason I'm going to take them off is if someone else brings me a bottle of Silver Oak. Obviously someone else opens Bergne's wine. If he ever tried to use his own design of corkscrew, he would have known you need arms the size of tree trunks to pop open the bottle. Bad designer, no vino for you!
